Merely okay Stormy rom-com
lor_20 December 2016
Stormy Daniels kind of sleep-walked through the execution of this assembly-line Wicked rom-com, taking the opportunity to don a fat-suit and play a less glamorous role than usual, at least for the first few reels. It's way too bland to rank among her best work.

Of course, she does have something to say with this script and subject matter, but it's all been said far better by others, working in mainstream cinema. Stormy's working for Randy Spears and under-appreciated, not only her work but her sex appeal because she's a roly-poly, overweight specimen. On low porn budgets, the fat-suit and makeup job is perfunctory and unconvincing -no Eddie Murphy or Martin Lawrence comedic exaggeration here, so the set-up has very little impact.

As the title telegraphs, she eventually pulls her socks up and exercises/changes her nutrition and magically becomes the uber-sexy Stormy faster than you can say Jenny Craig. The ease with which she gains self-esteem, studly admirers and career advancement works against the show's theme.

Spears is unfortunate casting in that he overplays, as usual, his character's bad points, while Marcus London is saddled with a nearly unplayable nice-guy role. Stormy is ever-unselfish in surrounding herself with even sexier femmes, as she knows the play's the thing, not just a vehicle for self-promotion, so we get Alektra Blue as a bad girl (no stretch for her) and very hot Trina Michaels and Jenaveve Jolie having their own sex scenes.

The show looks fine and is generally easy to watch, with house cameraman and erstwhile director Francois Clousot doing a good job.
