The acting of most of the actors was good, but the plot was incredibly weak. Why should they forgive and reconcile with a person that abused and cheated on their mother? The father of Viruman even killed his innocent sister in the most cruel way possible. And he only realised his mistakes when his own needs were met while he was dying? I don't really call that true redemption. Besides, I don't see characters like that as gray characters. He is just a bad person. Moreover, the brothers also started siding with the main character after things were done for them. These family members all seem so selfish and therefore it's hard to feel the family sentiment that they tried to potray in this movie. I'm done with this narrative in some tamil movies that you should forgive someone for all the horrible things they have done just because they are your family members. Some things are unforgiveable and some so-called family members suck and you should just cut them off.

The songs were good, but we all know that Yuvan always does his job no matter what.

I can't believe such a movie in 2022. This is not a B/C center movie either. If they thought so then they are underestimating their appreciation for good movies. No need to waste time and money on this one.

I think Director thought if u keep big beard, Lungi(South Indian/Tamizian dress) little upward & have Aruva ( weapon in South India) the film will get Hits. No story line only Continously Dialogue and irritating, fight Scene very often. Waste of Money.

The problem with Viruman is not it's routine village drama set up but with it's irredeemable characters. Viruman (Karthi) hates on his father Muniyandi (Prakash Raj) as he is responsible for his mother and aunt's suicide. He grows up hating on his father to an extent of celebrating when someone slaps him and even gifting that person a ring for slapping. On the other hand Muniyandi is an extremely toxic man / father who treats his sons & daughter in laws badly. With couple of villains around trying to take advantage of this father - son enmity, how will Viruman change Muniyandi for good forms rest of the story.

The thing is Prakash Raj's character is shown to be extremely bad beyond redemption. His actions no way show he deserves a second chance. Yet the whole film comes tumbling down in that terrible third act. As much as Soori tries, those scenes are as funny as he tries to be without any decent support from the writing. It is the same with the entire screenplay as well as it resorts to the same 5 fights 4 songs template. With nothing innovative and overdose of Toxic men, the resolution the director opts for comes out as painful as it can get to watch.
