Why would anyone hate the audience this much?!
chand-suhas28 April 2024
Akshay (Pruthvi Ambaar) works as a company's marketing executive which produces product to improve sex life. He features in the company's ad itself and gets famous, while his parents are dreaming of get him married. Unknown to them, he is already married to Anvita (Milana Nagaraj) and gets caught red-handed by his parents. As they get them properly married again amidst all their respective relatives, the two families clash over trivial issues. Soon, Akshay acts distant for no reason which forces Anvi to question him. With no positive response, relationship between them worsens and they apply for divorce. Why is Akshay acting distant and will the couple realize they are meant to be together, is what the remaining film is about.

For Regn is another silly Kannada film which takes the audience for granted. The usually dependable Pruthvi Ambaar is extremely dull here and Milana Nagaraj is getting highly repetitive with such characters. The making too is not above an ordinary TV movie/serial and the film terribly tests the patience with it's pointless screenplay. There is no real conflict and the role of Ravishankar becomes useless, appearing unnecessarily in the flashback. Speaking of no real conflict, the final reveal regarding the supposed conflict is so silly, one wonders why would anybody part of this film would even agree to get the film on floors let alone film it.

A Typical "Woman misunderstands her loyal husband" Trope
apsrla-188003 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It's a stupid story. Save your time.

The main characters, Akshay and Anvita, are examples of poorly written characters. Akshay works as the face for a sexual wellness company, without knowing whether it works well or not.

Akshay and Anvita get married without the parents knowing and then get married again after the parents get to know. We hear a bunch of unnecessary and artificial complaints from both sides during marriage. They get married and live together again, with the families fighting for nonsensical reasons.

At some point, Akshay starts distancing Anvita for seemingly no reason, stops talking properly, avoids calls and work, etc. Anvita tries to understand why and tries many times to get him to open up, but in vain. Anvita and another family member follow Akshay once in the middle of the night and find him in a hospital with another woman, crying over a dead person. All of this leads to them going to a divorce mediator.

What happens there? The truth comes out: someone died because of Akshay's company's product, and the woman was the dead person's wife and that Akshay was trying to solve the problem in secret to avoid media outrage. After this info comes out, Akshay starts acting out, saying that it's only because of family interference that all the problems have come, and it's unfair to him.

Later, they find out that the dead person isn't actually dead and the couple were actually scamming companies for the payouts. Seeing this, Anvita apologises to Akshay.

So, the moral is that even though the man acts distant, ignores the wife for many days, and doesn't talk to her whatsoever about anything, though the marriage was out of love, it was the wife's duty to be the most patient and understand him without knowing anything at all. She's at fault and does not deserve an apology from the man for making the marriage work.

Such a stupid movie. Black dot on Kannada cinemas due to such movies!!

Warning: Spoilers
It's a very stupid and silly movie. I wonder whether the actors heard the story line before acting!! Why would anyone do such a movie to waste the time of audience. Not even worth watching on OTT. Except for one song, everything else feels so trivial. There's no punch, or connection with the audience. Don't waste time watching the movie.

Movie Summary : The lead couple is already married, even though how they feel in love has no essence to it at all. Everything including romance emotions feels very forced in the movie. Their parents find out and get them married in a ceremony. After that why the lead maintains secrecy about what he's dealing with is also super lame. And then all the divorce drama and stupid twist!

A good family movie

Unlike the cliche of today's cinema, for regn is a family movie with no vulgarity and obscenity. The kissing scene also is done without them actually kissing. This was very interesting how the director thought to camouflage this scene and looked completely natural. The lead pair looks good on screen and are the main attraction in the movie. The story is age old, tried and tested type but does not look predictable towards the end. Songs could be fewer.

For a debutant director, actors and crew this is a great movie. Wouldn't regret watching it.

Good luck to the entire team and hope to see more films under this banner.
