Actor Yves Jacques contacted director Martin Villeneuve to propose his services for the film. Jacques was indeed impressed by what Villeneuve had achieved with Imelda 2: le notaire (2020) and Imelda 3: Simone (2020), and wanted to participate despite the filmmaker's difficulty in securing funding to produce his short films as well as the feature film version, Les 12 travaux d'Imelda (2022).
Barbie, the dog who plays Pipo, was so well-trained and easy to work with that Martin Villeneuve wrote a whole chapter revolving around Imelda's dog. Barbie had already appeared in Imelda 2: le notaire (2020), Imelda 4: le cadeau (2022), Imelda 5: Imperial 59 (2022) and Imelda 6: les pilules (2022).
The beautiful pink vintage dress that actress Anne-Marie Cadieux is wearing in the veterinarian's office is a costume initially intended for Martin Villeneuve as Imelda. While the dress was too small for Villeneuve to wear, it fit Cadieux perfectly.
