If watching Tiger Chen punch and kick his way through Keanu Reeves’ directorial debut “Man of Tai Chi” isn’t your cup of tea, then perhaps you’d like to watch the guy save a little boy from a gang of ruthless kidnappers. That’s essentially the plot for Chen’s upcoming action flick “Kung Fu Man.” Were I judging this movie based on title alone, then “Kung Fu Man” would already lose. It’s definitely not an inspired choice, though this doesn’t seem to get in the way of the film’s penchant for martial arts madness. I suppose I shouldn’t judge a movie on its title alone, but “Kung Fu Man” is pretty generic. Sheesh. Anyway, the movie is set to open in China in just a few days. In order to spread the good word about Tiger Chen’s latest effort, a brand new poster...

The first trailer for the for kung fu epic Man of Tai Chi has been released. The Mandarin-Cantonese-English production marks Keanu Reeves‘ directorial debut and stars Tiger Hu Chen (Kung Fu Hero) as a martial arts expert who seems to be drawn into an underground tournament run by Reeves. The film also stars Simon Yam (Ip Man), Karen Mok (Shaolin Soccer , Black Mask), and Iko Uwais, the star of The Raid: Redemption. The fight scenes, which reportedly will take up 40 minutes of the film, will be choreographed by legendary action choreographer Yuen Woo Ping (The Matrix, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) and will feature a new camera technology that takes the action up-close and personal without tons of editing cuts.

We're always grateful when filmmakers take a moment out of their schedule to share their stories with Tmp. This week at the Austin Film Festival we were able to sit down with Writer/Director/Actor Blayne Weaver and a few cast members from his new film '6 Month Rule'.
Congratulations on the world premiere of your new film 6 Month Rule. Could you tell us a little bit about it?
Blayne - It’s about a guy who’s kind of a womanizer and he comes up with these rules on how to avoid emotional commitment which he actually feels is the biggest mistake you can make. His best friend gets dumped by his fiancée so my character kind of takes him under his wing trying to lead him down this path of cynicism and avoiding any kind of emotional attachment.
What is the backstory of the film? As in, what inspired the story?...
