• Conan O'Brien : Let's talk about the movie career. Because you are quite honest about your movies. You are, you are viscerally, painfully honest about your movies. There are good ones, and then you'll, you'll call them as you see them. You'll admit there have been some bad ones.

  Denis Leary : Listen, anybody that's in the movie business, most movies suck, let's be honest. Right?

  [audience laughter] 

  Denis Leary : Most movies that we all go to see, suck.

  Conan O'Brien : Right.

  Denis Leary : The batting average is probably, like, three out of every ten movies you go to is really a great, great movie. Right? So if you're in the movies, y'know, most of the ones you're in, suck. Most of the ones I was in REALLY sucked.

  Conan O'Brien : Uh-huh.

  Denis Leary : I mean, I was in some BAD movies.

  Conan O'Brien : What are the movies that, because the other problem is that they stay out there for a long time.

  Denis Leary : They live forever. I was in "Operation Dumbo Drop".

  Denis Leary : Now, the obvious...

  Conan O'Brien : Wait a minute, was that? Maybe that was them loving the movie.

  Denis Leary : No, that was them agreeing how much the movie sucked.

  Conan O'Brien : I see. I didn't understand.

  Denis Leary : It was a bunch of guys, a bunch of famous actors and a giant elephant. And a lot of elephant crap. And the elephant crap was better than the movie was. Look, I'm just statin' the truth. Maybe your kids would enjoy it, I dunno. But I was in a lot of 'em. I was in, um, I was in "Demolition Man", with Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes.

  Conan O'Brien : Is that the one that takes place in-

  [audience cheering] 

  Denis Leary : [to audience]  Now, wait. Are you- you're not cheering that it's good. No. No, come on. That's Wesley Snipes.

  Conan O'Brien : [laughs]  No, they like the film. They like the film. This is the movie where Sylvester Stallone goes into the future...

  Denis Leary : But there's liking the movie, and there's liking it because it's kind of a kitschy...

  Conan O'Brien : No no, they liked the movie.

  Denis Leary : Really. Okay, how about "Who's the Man"?

  Denis Leary : No, see...

  Conan O'Brien : [laughs]  Why did you push your luck?

  Denis Leary : I know, I pushed my luck.
