Having just watched a Richard Dawson-era "Family Feud" where two groups of musical sisters competed against each other, I thought I'd check on YouTube again for a current "Feud" with another musical connotation. I ended up with this, the fifth and last day of male former "American Idol" contestants (A.J. Gil, Ricky Smith, Jon Peter Lewis, George Huff) vs. their female counterparts (Venessa Alamirez, Diana DeGarmo, Kimberly Locke, Julia DiMato, Amy Adams). Now before I review the game, I have to admit right here that this is the first time I've watched an episode of the 3rd incarnation of "Family Feud" and I have to say that I'm not too crazy about the updated set or some of the modern music chosen. As for host Richard Karn, he's not too bad but doesn't hold a candle to either Ray Combs or certainly not Richard Dawson. Okay, so I notice they brought back the "Pass" or "Play" option that disappeared during the Combs/2nd Dawson era though I wish the same disappearing had been done for that still-irritating musical clicking noise during Fast Money which ended up with the girls (Finally, according to Karn) playing with Julia and Kimberly. Oh, and the survey questions asked for this round were: "Name something you'd cheat on even though you're honest inside", "Name something you'd do while driving that you shouldn't", and "Name a three-letter word children learn to spell". This was an okay "Family Feud" episode. P.S. George Huff is from New Orleans which is just a two-hour drive from where I currently live.
