It's Friday, and do you know what that means? Yep! It's exclusive time! On tap is a clip from Exhumed, a uniquely original vision of horror written by Guy Benoit (Atomic Brain Invasion), produced by Ted Marr (The Disco Exorcist), and directed by Richard Griffin (Nun of That).
Director Richard Griffin (Nun of That, The Disco Exorcist) believes, "Exhumed marks a real change of pace, not only for us, but for modern horror in general. There are no tricks, no gimmicks, no CGI fakery, but a return to classic storytelling. I am quite proud of the level of performances in this movie, which are only matched by the sheer originality and power of the screenplay by Guy Benoit. I think audiences will be quite disturbed by the events that take place in the film."
Producer Ted Marr says, "[We are] really excited to be trying something new with Exhumed. It's almost like a period piece,...

Scorpio Film Releasing, creators of The Disco Exorcist and Nun of That, have provided us with the official trailer for their latest feature film, Murder University. It delivers suspense, thrills, and a bloody good time in the spirit of a 1980's slasher.
Synopsis:
A series of brutal, cult-like murders are taking place at a New England college. Josh Greene (Jamie Dufault), a shy freshman, is the lone survivor of a series of murders that are reminiscent of a similar string of killings some twenty years prior. As he seeks to uncover the secret behind the attacks, he is joined by Detective Forrester (Michael Thurber), who was instrumental in halting the bloodshed before, and his daughter, Meg (Sammi Acampora), who had barely escaped being a victim previously.
The film is directed by Richard Griffin (Nun of That), written by Lenny Schwartz, and produced by Ted Marr (Atomic Brain Invasion) and Kristin Kayala...

Scorpio Film Releasing is currently three weeks into production on its newest feature, the Richard Griffin-directed Murder University, which is being shot entirely in Rhode Island, and we have artwork, an image gallery, and some early details to share.
From the Press Release:
An homage to slasher films of the early 1980’s, Murder University is on pace to be Sfr’s most violent outing. Griffin's past films include Nun of That, Atomic Brain Invasion, and The Disco Exorcist, all tone and style-perfect incarnations of the B-movie trends of their respected eras.
Director Richard Griffin says: "Even though we just passed the one-third mark of production, Murder University has turned out to be our most blood-soaked feature to date. It's wonderful having such talented special effects artists as Eric Rodrigues and Jordan Pacheco to create such gruesome works of art. I know horror fans are pretty much fed up to...

I pledge allegiance... to the undead hordes clamoring to eat my brain. And honestly, if the shit does ever hit the fan, what other group would you want to side with? Unfortunately, the walking dead are not usually much for national pride, but if I've got a zombie with his teeth on my head, I'm willing to try just about anything. Say hello to Zombie Allegiance.
Directed by Tony Nunes and starring Brandon Louis Aponte (Nun of That), Andre Boudreau (Atomic Brain Invasion), Carlos Brum (Splatter Disco), Sarah Nicklin (Beyond the Dunwich Horror, Nun of That) and Michael Reed (Nun of That), Zombie Allegiance is a post-apocalyptic undead gore-fest brought to you by your friends at Independent Entertainment under the Alternative Cinema banner. It's been a while since we've gotten an update on Exhumed, a uniquely original vision of horror written by Guy Benoit (Atomic Brain Invasion), produced by Ted Marr (The Disco Exorcist), and directed by Richard Griffin (Nun of That); but that's all about to change. Today we have for you the film's new poster and trailer along with a couple of stills.
From the Press Release:
Different from the acclaimed genre fare Scorpio Film Releasing is known for, Exhumed is a terrifying fairy tale centered in the repulsive recesses of humanity. Loneliness, solitude, fear, and longing lead an unlikely group of housemates to the darkest edges of life and death.
Director Richard Griffin (Nun of That, The Disco Exorcist) believes "Exhumed marks a real change of pace, not only for us, but for modern horror in general. There are no tricks, no gimmicks, no CGI fakery, but a return to classic storytelling.

Earlier this year we told you about Exhumed, a uniquely original vision of horror written by Guy Benoit (Atomic Brain Invasion), produced by Ted Marr (The Disco Exorcist), and directed by Richard Griffin (Nun of That). This week Scorpio Film Releasing dropped us a line to let us know the film has wrapped production and provided us with three new stills.
Exhumed marks Sfr's 10th feature, their others including Nun of That, Atomic Brain Invasion, Disco Exorcist, Beyond the Dunwich Horror, and more. Producer Marr says that "even though we are early in the process, from looking at the raw footage, I strongly suspect that this will be our best work to date. Certainly the best technically."
Director Griffin further explains that "Exhumed is a major change of pace for us. Guy Benoit's amazing screenplay is not filled with the typical "Things That Go Bump In The Night" creatures like vampires,...

Scorpio Film Releasing has sent out a press release and a new still for their upcoming acquisition called Exhumed, which is in the vein of recent indies that are honoring past classics. Much like how House of the Wolf Man homaged the classic cannon of Universal Horror Films from the 1940s, Exhumed is doing the same but to the thrillers from the ’60s like Psycho or Peeping Tom. The film was successfully completed thanks to Kickstarter.
Scorpio Film Releasing’s newest film, Exhumed wraps production.
Providence, Ri – Scorpio Film Releasing has wrapped production on Exhumed, the darkly twisted tale of a socially maligned family who are seemingly unable to leave their own home. This film marks Scorpio Film Releasing’s 10th feature, their others including Nun of That, Atomic Brain Invasion, Disco Exorcist, Beyond the Dunwich Horror and more.

It’s lucky 13 for the Boston Underground Film Festival as they celebrate their raucous 13th annual edition this year. Opening with the much buzzed about bloody feature film Hobo With a Shotgun starring Rutger Hauer and directed by Jason Eisener, the fest then barrels on for eight wild nights and days from March 24-31.
While there’s plenty of underground goodness from the U.S.A., this year Buff feels like it’s a much more international affair with several sick features from around the globe. There’s gory horror and quirky black comedy from Japan in the guise of Yoshihiro Nishimura’s Helldriver and Sion Sono’s Cold Fish; the Argentinian freak-out Phase7 by Nicolas Goldbart; David Blyth’s Wound is a psychological thriller from New Zealand; and Mark Hartley’s Machete Maidens Unleashed! is a look at Philippine exploitation cinema from the ’70s.

While we had heard 2009: Mutants of the Apocalypse was going to be the next project for Scorpio Film Releasing, it turns out that instead they're moving forward with Exhumed, a uniquely original vision of horror written by Guy Benoit (Atomic Brain Invasion), produced by Ted Marr (The Disco Exorcist), and directed by Richard Griffin (Nun of That).
The production will star Sarah Nicklin (Nun of That), Michael Reed (The Disco Exorcist), Ruth Sullivan (Nun of That), Michael Thurber (The Disco Exorcist), Rich Tretheway (Atomic Brain Invasion), Jonathan Thomson, and genre great Debbie Rochon as the Governess.
Synopsis:
Exhumed deals with a twisted family that is seemingly unable to leave their own home. Their gnarled existence and mounting animosity finally give way to violence and visceral panic. Exhumed’s closest living relatives would perhaps be The House of the Devil, Ils, and The Strangers. The recently deceased would include the...

Scorpio Film Releasing has announced that its next production, and most ambitious to date, will be the feature film 2009: Mutants of the Apocalypse, a unique look at a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by outlandishly deformed mutants, ruthlessly violent gangs, corruptible leaders, wasteland temptresses, and the most badass antihero in movie history: Python Diamond.
From the Press Release:
New England genre film director Richard Griffin tackles his loftiest vision yet in an epic production of grand scale action and science fiction. As with Griffin’s other films Nun Of That, Beyond The Dunwich Horror, Atomic Brain Invasion, and upcoming The Disco Exorcist (read more about that here), 2009: Mutants Of The Apocalypse will be a genre inspired adventure movie much like Escape from New York or the Italian “Spaghetti-Apocalypse” films Bronx Warriors, The New Barbarians, and Fall of New York.
