- Three Wiccans have a ceremonial Dumb Dinner with guests. Their dead mother sends them a warning.
- Jade, a green witch in Los Angeles makes a video for her YouTube channel about the potions she's made for Halloween or Samhain. She mixes a volatile potion waking her brother Calvin, who sleeps on the couch. Their oldest sister Keri interrupts Jade because she's stepped on another one of Jade's crystals. She tosses the crystal shattering it and devastating Jade.
Calvin talks to Keri while she showers for work about coming home on time. He's invited Chris her Christian neighbor to their ceremonial Samhain Dumb Dinner. Keri gets upset and reminds Calvin that men in their family have never had magic powers when Jade interrupts and tosses her share of the rent into Keri's shower. Keri kicks her siblings out of the bathroom and Calvin discovers that Keri has turned Jade into a little white dog.
That evening Keri is about half an hour late and Calvin is trying to make Chris feel comfortable while Jade and her girlfriend Skye do everything they can to make him apologize for being a Christian and a man. Chris reassures them that he is a Christian but he's also an ally and open-minded. Calvin begins gushing over his view on Wicca when Keri interrupts and directs them to start the dinner immediately.
They group does a Blessed Be prayer to welcome the new guests to the table for a sacred event. The altar is decorated for the occasion as is the table. There is even a straw woman to represent the end of the Harvest and their lost loved ones, especially their mother, the High Priestess of their coven. As Keri reads the Samhain prayer from their mother's Book of Shadows, Jade discovers a half-burnt letter from their mother. The letter warns them about a curse placed on their family from an old sin that they committed in the past. Jade hides the note and they begin the Dumb Dinner which, Keri explains, is to be done in total silence. As they try to explain this to Chris, Skye interrupts which starts a fight between Jade and Keri and ultimately Calvin. Keri erupts and reveals that she is tired of her siblings living with her, and she is tired of living as a witch, especially now that their mother has passed. She reminds Calvin that he will never have powers like his sisters and that he needs to accept that.
Suddenly, the straw woman comes to life and begins screaming as the group cowers at the end of the table. The Straw Woman starts screaming about a curse when Keri blows out the candle and the silences the entity. She then calls out to Calvin who seems to be possessed. When he comes back to, he warns them about force headed their way.
