I enjoyed it

Like most Lifetime movies there were plot holes, bad acting, and cringy dialogue but the movie wasn't horrible. It was a pleasant 2 hour diversion.

I will tune in for part 2 this weekend.

Good movie

This was a pretty good movie. However, I get so sick and tired of movies where characters are scared of being harmed or killed, and yet they talk in public either in person or on their cell phones. That's just really stupid and insulting to viewers' intelligence.

Kudos to Lifetime for this great new ensemble mystery series. I hope there will be more movies to come for this series. I will definitely continue watching Fallen Angels series-loved it!

Just awful.

Do yourself a favor....don't watch this. It's insipid. The plot is transparent to the point of absurdity. The acting is amateurish and the ending was quite predictable because there was no foreshadowing at all. It's supposed to be a mystery. The only mystery is how this made by Lifetime.

Terrible.

So I watched this and the follow up Fallen Angels Club: Heroes and Fellons and here is my take. The acting in both left much to desire for. It's becoming a trend where 90s singers become actresses. I'm talking about Toni Braxton and Mary J. Blige! Out of these two I'd say Mary J. Is a much better actress than Toni. Toni's acting is very dull, and she constantly looks and sounds bored out of her head.

Maybe she should just stick to singing. Anway this seems to be turning into a mini-series. I have to agree with the crticisms here on this page. But my major issue was the constant semi-loud background music, which was extremely annoying and towards the end of both I could feel a mild headache starting in my head. I'd rather be watching reruns of Murder She Wrote over and over again.

I was bored
pumping_iron-18 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I got through ten minutes of this. The actors were stiff and all appeared as what they were "actors on a stage". The lines were delivered in monotone with no emotions. There was really no "hook" to keep my interest. Even the death of a club member did not capture my interest. I was so bored, I didn't care why he was murdered or who did it. There was no realism in the performances. Everyone was just acting.

Really Enjoyed This

A really great entry into the murder mystery movie genre from Lifetime. The cast was great and this had just enough twists and turns to keep things interesting. I like the budding romance that became apparent by the end as well. There is already a second installment so hopefully, there are more to come. If you like the murder mystery series on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, you'll like this series too.

Couldn't even make it to the end

I don't know why I watch these types of films. I keep telling myself I'll stop, and then the premise will sound so good, so I'll watch it and then be deeply disappointed I wasted my time. This film is no exception. Awful script mixed with some awful acting made me switch off before the film was even finished. Not even worth watching just to stare at Eddie Cibrian.

A complete DUD!

Terrible acting, weak plot, very difficult to watch this show. Boring, slow and unsuspenseful. I suffered thru the first half or so of the movie, waiting for it to pick up pace and interest....never happened! Thanks for nothing, Lifetime!

Soundtrack

The only good thing about this movie is the soundtrack.

Poor acting, Toni braxton's make up, weak plot are the least things wrong with this movie.

I want my 2 hours back.

I was hoping this would be at least half way good to watch but nope. I would say it is both bad writing and bad acting. Could t even watch half of it before turning it off.

Awful from the start..

I didn't make it to 15 minutes. Acting is horrible. More like a recital. Don't waste your time.

Ok. My review is too short, so, I'll just tell you over and over again. This movie is a joke. Don't waste your time.

Painful to watch to the end
big_kahuna22-314-73707829 August 2022
So far I have only watched one of these 2 movies and I can honestly say this was really bad.

2 stars for a barely entertaining mystery with no stars for the acting. I will try to watch the 2nd one but if it is like this one I am out.

The acting was like no one wanted to be there and frankly I don't blame them my wife kept saying is it over yet and was not even paying attention. I hate to leave a movie without seeing the end especially a mystery so endured to the end.

I am only going to start the 2nd movie as there was kind of a cliff hanger there and I am hoping they can do better with this one.

Was over before I knew it.

There really isn't any suspense and the villain's confession and monologue was pretty comical. Not sure if this is supposed to be Lifetime's answer to Aurora Teagarden (head of a book club that's interested in murders turned sleuth), but it's not quite there quality-wise. I love all the mystery series on Hallmark, so if Lifetime can get a good one as well, and give us a break from the psycho of the week, that would be welcomed. I read this was based on a book, so I'll try to read that to see how close it was. The movie seemed pretty light on the details of the case and aside from being their friend, it didn't give us a ton of reasons to care about the initial victim. I guess that's reason enough, but this person was still involved in things they probably should not have been.

I may have to watch again, but I don't remember seeing/hearing what crime each club member committed? I would think that would be important to help establish their personalities (sort of like Leverage) since there were so many of them. I feel like so far only Toni and the character played by Rainbow Sun seem as if they are the members of the club that are needed for the story. Also, while watching the villain's confession, there were a lot of cliches in the speech as well as a lot of vagueness as to the why. No spoilers, but I don't think ************ is a good actor/actress so watching them as a villain didn't do it for me.

I saw a reviewer elsewhere say this one felt like a pilot and I have to agree. So maybe the second one will be better with the story and characters more fleshed out. I saw the cast list for the second one and it seems like most if not all will be back. The cast has decent enough chemistry and I think it's obvious who they will pair Hollis (Toni) with if this gets more movies. I did kind of expect this to be a Leverage-inspired murder mystery with all of the ex-cons bringing some "skill" to the table. I also expected a "And then there were none" kind of vibe, but that wasn't present either.

Speaking of Hallmark, it was nice to see Keith Robinson although it's funny bc he's the male lead in a new mystery series over there. Some of the other familiar faces are Lifetime and tv movie staples, so if nothing else, you'll recognize just about everyone from something else.

Worth one watch because it's not a psycho of the week.
