For strategy fans, easily the best episode of the season so far

Warning: Spoilers
Jam-packed with strategic conversations and content, mainly thanks to the two separate tribals, making up in retrospect for the awful tribal-less episode 6. In both cases I didn't know who was going home, but even more importantly, 9 episodes in, it is really hard for even the most experienced (and unspoiled of course, hehe) viewers to determine a clear winner favorite; this season is VERY well-edited in that department. What I DO know is that I want to see Ricard and Shan go far together: they are the best male-female hyper-strategic semi-villainous Survivor duo since.... Parvati and Russell probably (although there have been a couple of others in South African Survivor), and like them, they don't always see eye to eye. They, and their relationship, are complex and unorthodox. 8/10.

EDIT: well after the next episode this didn't age so well....however what is undeniable is that Shan's relationships with Ricard, Liana and Deshawn are the only interpersonal relationships that mattered this season....her duo with Ricard in particular is almost unparalleled in complexity in US Survivor for a man-woman pair. The winner still remains highly questionable, though it will probably be Deshawn or Ricard.

Who's Who in the Zoo

Just like the previous episode, this one was nothing special. Honestly, this and the last episode were pretty much the same, no crazy strategy, no shocking blindsides, instead this episode had a pretty cool twist at the immunity challenge. Instead of each contestant competing individually as one tribe, they did so in two groups. They drew rocks to determine who was in what group. The people within the group would compete against each other to see who would get individual immunity, and the other group would do the same. There were two individual immunity's up for grabs, which meant the two groups would go to tribal separate. The last person standing from each group would also compete against each other to see who which group would get a reward. I really liked the two separate tribals twist to the game, but both tribals were pretty normal. They were both blindsides, but not huge.

This was a solid episode, however the show seems to have flattened out over the past few episodes. I really hope the next one will pick it up and have something exciting happen. Can't wait!

Xander you blew it

Warning: Spoilers
He has a chance to play his idol for Evie and eliminate Liana, one of the remaining strong 5. That would have left things at 4 to 4 but nope; so now it's 5 to 3. They're not going anywhere. Alas this will be one of the worst seasons if the harpy Shan wins. Ugh!!!!

Survivor 41 - Unfit Island

Warning: Spoilers
With the unfittest contestants I ever seen on Survivor, finally a challenge with some bite. In the past despite the competition there was support. Now I'm this fake "I love everyone"-season, the only sentence I could hear was "I hate his face!". After Xander wins, he can barely stand out, and no one approaches him to help out. In this PC world with this season reflecting the current mood, it stands out I'm how people can't connect anymore. It is sad to see competitiveness turn into cheap nastiness. The more I watch the least I connect with those people, and also the least I enjoy Jeff. He sadly sounds more and more fake, and perhaps it's time to retire the show. Like a lot of other comments, if you like Survivor try to watch the Australian version, where there is real respect, people are nice but still competitive, and the physical challenges are amazing!
