Jam-packed with strategic conversations and content, mainly thanks to the two separate tribals, making up in retrospect for the awful tribal-less episode 6. In both cases I didn't know who was going home, but even more importantly, 9 episodes in, it is really hard for even the most experienced (and unspoiled of course, hehe) viewers to determine a clear winner favorite; this season is VERY well-edited in that department. What I DO know is that I want to see Ricard and Shan go far together: they are the best male-female hyper-strategic semi-villainous Survivor duo since.... Parvati and Russell probably (although there have been a couple of others in South African Survivor), and like them, they don't always see eye to eye. They, and their relationship, are complex and unorthodox. 8/10.
EDIT: well after the next episode this didn't age so well....however what is undeniable is that Shan's relationships with Ricard, Liana and Deshawn are the only interpersonal relationships that mattered this season....her duo with Ricard in particular is almost unparalleled in complexity in US Survivor for a man-woman pair. The winner still remains highly questionable, though it will probably be Deshawn or Ricard.
