Sex & Nudity

  • In one of the game's missions, a character mentions that another character has her "underwear"
  • One of the side missions require you to find inappropriate magazines for a character.
  • While there is no sex depicted, this game is rated for mature humor which includes sexual slang.

Violence & Gore

  • At the start of the game you meet a "docter" named zed he sells drugs that heal you. He is usually seen chopping up dead corpses. He has a bucket of limbs in a bucket next to him very graphic.
  • Human enemies can be incinerated, electrocuted which causes them to explode, and dissolved, and they can be shot. Creatures can have the same done to them but it is more cartoonish with colorful blood.
  • There is A LOT of gunplay in Borderlands, Borderlands is also known for its huge collection of guns in the game.

Profanity

  • All borderlands games have the f word but this one has them all censored.
  • I'd say approximately 30 F-bombs (censored) including other uses of profane words such as: sh*t, d**n, cr*p, h*ll, a**hole
  • There's some sexual slang as well.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Liquor bottles are seen lying around, one character has a joint in their mouth.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some of the monsters are frightening but nothing very extreme because the game is presented in a cartoony and humorous way.
