Funny (not funny)

How as soon as there's any racial aspect to an ep of PD, a bunch of people complain the show is going down the tubes, or they don't want to see current events, yet when it's about child abuse they never acknowledge that's also sadly a "current event". I'd be called a "woke lefty" or "liberal" by them, but I don't see that as an insult. I'd rather that than an over privileged or racist whiner.

Great work by LaRoyce Hawkins.

Warning: Spoilers
I always love when an episode is centered around Kevin. And LaRoyce delivers another great performance. And kudos to Amanda Payton as Kevin's one night stand. She's gorgeous.

In other storylines, apparently Jay and Hailey got over last week's troubles off camera.

Great Episode and Writing.
cwpayton7 November 2021
Writers are taking a different stance on the Black Lives Matter craze. I like their approach. LaRoyce Hawkins is trying to be a cop and yet wrestling with the system. There is something wrong but the answers to the problem are harder to answer than most people in our society make it out. Sorry to see that this episode gets one of the lower ratings of all of the episodes. This is a tough subject and I think the writers aren't ignoring it and at least trying to examine the subject. Kev seems to be stuck in the middle on this subject. Not as radical as his new love interest, Celeste, and yet still bothered. Voight has a nice line toward him showing respect and admiration for continuing to do his job while he wrestles with these issues. Let's face it, most, not all of the crooks in this show have been black. Maybe that is a reality in Chicago and yet is there something more to it.

Think Twice

Warning: Spoilers
I found this episode incredibly deep Kevin is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Yes these boys are killers, but they have had no guidance raised by the mean streets of Chicago. As a young black man myself, I can relate. I've seen many guys growing up with so much potential thrown away for nothing influenced by their environment and what's "cool" on social media. It's a cycle like a kid who sees his dad beat his mom and then grows up to beat his wife. One must be shown there's a better way, or things will only repeat themselves. I'm sure many black police officers have felt conflicted between there community and badge everything is not black and white salute to everyone behind the show for delivering another thought-provoking episode.

Amanda Payton, Only in one episode??????????????
MyEinsamkeit12 December 2021
This episode was amazing, Amanda Payton is freaking hot. But what in the world, she's only in this episode . What about the rest of the story, why not Kevin tell her who he really is, why leave the storyline like that. Sigh.

Great episode, but the whole "white man at fault nonsense" and race baiting needs to stop. Do the writers really think its ok for a cop to think like that? Kevin partners are "white", he's basically bashing them when he talks like that. This nonsense needs to stop and fast.

Love this episode despite all that race nonsense, but man Amanda Payton is freaking sexy (kinda on the slow slide with that race nonsense, and i hope she isn't like that in real life haha ).

I'm episode
Lythas_855 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The story was good. The actor can carry the story as a lead no problem. Actually, all of the them can except the new girl I forgot her name. With all her whiny faces and mannerisms. That one is boring af.

What I didn't like about the episode was the woke bs that's been more evident in shows.. at least the woman in this episode didn't play the feminist all the womare victims of men....

Lousy episode.

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't like this episode at all. Lousy plotline. Also, Atwater is getting militant. Talks about white people, the man, etc. I think he should be suspended or fired.

Season 9 goes down the tubes.
joshrketchumid15 November 2021
Episode 1 was lit, but this season has been hit or miss. Finally binged last three episodes and I don't understand what happened. This felt like a different show. I like LaRoyce and I get the hot-button issue the writers are dealing with and even like the idea of Kevin dealing with it, but the execution is super poor on this one. Not compelling. Not well made. It felt like a bad B movie. What happened???? I felt like LaRoyce Hawkins' talent was wasted. The direction is inauthentic and every moment felt super fake. Worthless waste of my time. Please give us back the grounded and well made Chicago PD! Season 8 was SO MUCH BETTER.
