Beautiful movie..A must watch family entertainer.
contacthimani16 July 2023
This movie is about 6 sisters of different age groups and facing different challenges in their lives. They come together to participate in a Mangalagaur (A traditional Maharashtrian festival celebrated by women only) competition and end up finding their long lost bond back.

The cast is stellar. All actors are well known stalwarts of Marathi theater/movies. The director of the movie has also given superhits before. This is very lighthearted and entertaining movie. Its refreshing to see such movie in the midst of all serious and intense movies. A story about human relations and its nuances, it keeps you engaged from start to end. A must watch family entertainer.

Fantastic Fever of Kedar Shinde's Magic !
harishjadhav-2856012 July 2023
This movie did something that Indian movies -- and oftentimes American movies -- rarely do. They created a genuinely moving movie that honestly depicted women as real people with unique, distinct personalities and roles. None of these women were fantasies or stereotypes of what a woman should be like vice versa it feels you different way of living life like do what you want is necessary in this fast paced life. The cast was extremely diverse, with sisters of the family we have all over India, and the movie displayed the different struggles and wastage feels from their own family members and how woman's fights against with all emotional damages and took strong stands for themselves. Without preaching or dropping the plot, 'Bai Pan Bhari Deva' tackles the difficulties of breaking typical things that Indian society impose to woman's, and the pains and joys of family members. The only (minor) flaw is that you can probably easily guess how the movie ends. Still, 'Bai Pan Bhari Deva' is one of best film ever.

Baipan Bhaari Deva (Marathi film) review :

Six sisters, all different attitudes and on not too good terms, decide to team up to participate in a 'Mangalagaur' dance competition. The practice sessions help them bond with each other and resolve not just their internal grudges but also fix some personal issues on the domestic front.

The latest Marathi blockbuster aptly titled Baipan Bhaari Deva (Being Woman is difficult) is a perfect nod to womenhood, highlighting their personal issues in a humourous way as well as offering a solution of personal bonding with kith and kin. Yea, no bra burning or lesbian-giri here like what Bollywood invariably mistakes for girl power cinema!!! These are the kinda movies they should make really...

Anyway, kudos to Kedar Shinde and his entire girl gang, who have delivered a highly entertaining fare, particularly to all the 'ladies bayka' patronizing the theatres in hordes. The almost full morning show at INOX Nakshatra mall, Dadar was dominated by women with only three men (including yours truly) amongst them. The claps and cheers were led by the ladies and the grand dance finale got a standing ovation. Now that's what I call entertainment!!

Regards, Sumeet Nadkarni.

This movie is refreshing and a complete entertainer.

The story is good. The director has also done a good job.

The lead characters are just brilliant. Each one of them is a master in their own way.

The one who watches this movie will find some bits and pieces of their family members in the characters. You will relive your childhood memories for sure.

It's a complete family entertainer. Even children and men of the family will enjoy this movie.

It's full of emotions, comedy, and drama.

The comic timings of all characters is also awesome.

So overall this movie is a complete package.

A must watch for all.

A family entertainer which celebrates womanhood and sisterhood
ksamruddhi-4678610 July 2023
This movie is a breath of fresh air from all the same old stereotypes. The perfect casting adds flavour to the movie. It's a perfect movie which celebrates womanhood and sisterhood without demeaning anyone. The supporting cast and played their part very well. Marathi movies are a class apart from Bollywood due to the subtlety and nuances in the acting performance. The movie has connected so well with audiences that nearly all shows are housefull in prime metro cities.

Kudos to the director, cast and the entire team of "baipan Bhari deva". I feel they should showcase this on an international platform with subtitles as well as dubbed versions.

Such a film will not happen again

*"Baipan Bhari Deva"* Amazing movie... Excellent art work.... Nothing like this movie has been done in the film world before.... As soon as Marathi artists got the respect... but it became even more double-edged... A masterpiece like this will never happen again... A must watch movie for everyone... Sarth is proud of how Marathi culture has been cultivated by Marathi artists in the 21st century... Also proud that such a movie has been made in Marathi.

You must go to the cinema and watch it with your family... All the actors.. The actors behind the scenes... Thank you all so much... I got to see such a thing because of you... I am blessed... Your immense hard work is easily seen in the film.

Good woman oriented movie
dseemalhar6 April 2024
Finally I watched this recent marathi blockbuster.

It's a woman oriented family entertainer.

Six estranged sisters decide to take part in a Mangalgauri competition, and reunite. They must overcome their past and face their struggles head-on.

Writer Vaishali Naik and Director Kedar Shinde surely know how to make a relatable, well-connected movie for ladies. Story deals with different problems such as health, relationship, financial, psychological problems women face in their lives. Though some characters are well written, some not. Casting is perfect for leads, they are well-known for their acting chops. Manglagauri dance performance in the climax smartly picturized. I find myself overwhelmed at the end.

One of the best movie based on family relations
alimonly15 July 2023
This movie speaks about the distance created in relations in the family on account of some unknowingly happened misunderstandings.

The director has very successfully shown the daily stress and difficulties in the life of women in the film. Based on the lives of six sisters, the film shows their relationship. How these six sisters come together and overcome their problems with each other's help is beautifully presented in the film.

After a long time Kedar Shinde has come up with a great family film " Baipan Bhari Deva" for the Marathi film audience.

This is a very good and must watch family drama..

Precise drama, precise acting, precise casting
mhetreviraj15 July 2023
Appreciate talent of Marathi actors. Everything is precise in the movie. All female actors put their efforts to make this movie better. The movie doesn't have anything which hamper anyone's sentiment but on other hand it throws light on reality.

As per me, Talking about story is not advisable, you should watch movie and experience. It's a new Era of Marathi movies. Women's are backbone of entire society and its reality. We should always respect women's around us.

Entertainment is full on in the movies using apt language Encourage directors to create such movies in future as well.

Kudos to entire team of this movie.

Six Women's Fight For Fading Womanhood
SAMTHEBESTEST8 July 2023
Baipan Bhari Deva (2023) : Movie Review -

Kedar Shinde gets back to the womanhood zone with his latest Marathi film, "Baipan Bhari Deva," starring six actresses: Rohini Hattangadi, Vandana Gupte, Sukanya Kulkarni, Shilpa Navalkar, Suchitra Bandekar, and Deepa Parab. Kedar has earlier explored woman-oriented cinema in the Marathi industry with "Aga Bai Arrecha!" "Bakula Namdev Ghotale" and "Aga Bai Arrecha 2", but his first attempt has been most successful and loved. That magic of Kedar Shinde is missing now, or better said, it needs brushing since he hasn't been able to hit the right chords with almost all of his last films. With Baipan Bhari Deva, he attempts to regain the lost glory of woman-oriented cinema and somehow manages to pull off a decent show. This Manglagaur tale of womanhood is likely to get noticed by female and male audiences who have been involved in such situations, but from the critic's point of view, the movie needed a little more brushing to clear the dust off Kedar Shinde's recent commercial potboilers.

Baipan Bhari Deva is about six sisters, Jaya (Rohini Hattangadi), Shashi (Vandana Gupte), Sadhana (Sukanya Kulkarni), Pallavi (Suchitra Bandekar), Ketaki (Shilpa Navalkar), and Charu (Deepa Parab), who haven't been on good terms for a long time now. Shashi has complex issues with her daughter's mother-and-law, which leads her to join the competition at Manglagaur. Naturally, she needs a team to win the competition. It happens that Shashi and her five sisters have been a good team of Manglagaurs since way back in time. The tough and literally impossible mission of gathering all the sisters together begins as they face each other every day while rehearsing for the competition. During the practise sessions, the sisters come close to each other as they express their feelings and problems and even find solutions for them.

The basic script of Baipan Bhari Deva is simple but a little outdated. The same storyline would have made a difference in the 2000s or 2010s, but today's audience has gone way ahead of such stories, with "Jhimma" making enough noise for a certain set of audiences. BBD isn't a feel-good movie like Jhimma; rather, it's dramatic, sometimes too dramatic. Those intelligent speeches and clever characters are missing. Not every character can be problematic. This film kicks this basic logic out of the narrative, only to make the film more dramatic and less realistic. A few jokes here and there are pleasant, but the humour isn't quite smart. Every single woman has a problem, and nothing new, but the same old cry-bubbles, while tackling those issues isn't an updated thing for 2023. Baipan Bhari Deva needed better conflicts and a finer screenplay to get the womanhood dose right. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here.

It's hard to accept Rohini Hattangadi doing all those amazing things at this age. Believe me, even youngsters don't do it that well. How do you manage to do it, ma'am? My mother would like to know the secret of your energy, if not me. Vandana Gupte is a typical woman, abandoned by lost motherhood, but I didn't feel her character that deeply. Although she acted and danced well, her charm wasn't enough to save the badly written character. Deepa Parab is back on the big screen after a while, and she makes her presence visible. The breakdown scene at the birthday party and that scream in the car were just fabulous. Sukanya Kulkarni is up to it, Suchitra Bandekar is a glamour-minus-respectable woman, and Shilpa Navalkar too has a weak character, but they all have done a fine job from their sides. The male cast adds decent support there.

Baipan Bhari Deva has a tedious musical structure that sounds good to the ears but makes the eyes have a little meltdown. The presentation of the Manglagaur song in the climax is the best of them all, while that viral railway platform dance was too predictable. The cinematography doesn't offer anything great, nor does the editing. However, the production design is better. Kedar Shinde's vision to explore womanhood issues seems outdated, and the punches too need a modern touch now. There was nothing much he could do with the script, but yes, he could have managed to pull off comedy better. After all, that's his forte. If you can't succeed at your strengths, then you definitely need to look for the betterment of other things. Overall, Baipan Bhari Deva might work for some men and women who are fans of daily soaps and would want to change themselves, but as a feature film, it isn't anything more than an average, one-time watch.

RATING - 5/10*

A perfect family drama !
sanahashamkhan16 February 2024
⭐⭐⭐⭐

Baipan Bhari Deva is an engaging and thought-provoking Marathi movie that delves into the intricacies of family life and sisterhood. The narrative beautifully unfolds the lives of Jaya, Charu, Shashi, Pallavi, Ketaki, and Sadhana, each grappling with their own set of challenges.

The characters are well-developed, and the performances are commendable, bringing authenticity to the portrayal of the sisters' struggles. Jaya's emotional journey, Charu's resilience, Shashi's family dynamics, Pallavi's tough decisions, Ketaki's extravagant lifestyle, and Sadhana's dealings with her father-in-law are all sensitively portrayed, making them relatable to the audience.

The Mangala Gaur ceremony serves as a poignant backdrop, highlighting the strength and unity these sisters can find even in the face of adversity. The dance competition scene, in particular, captures a moment of harmony amid the underlying tensions, emphasizing the power of joy and unity.

What sets Baipan Bhari Deva apart is its ability to balance the portrayal of real-life struggles with moments of humor and warmth. The film is a celebration of the complexities of family life, skillfully weaving together challenges and triumphs into a unique tapestry of sisterhood. The Mangala Gaur ceremony becomes a symbolic representation of the resilience of these women, reminding us that amidst difficulties, they can still find moments of joy and connection.

The storytelling is both heartwarming and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impact on the audience. Baipan Bhari Deva is a must-watch for those who appreciate nuanced narratives that explore the depth of human relationships. The movie beautifully captures the essence of sisterhood and the strength that can be found in unity, even in the face of life's challenges.

Beautiful movie with incredible acting
gauravmogre5 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Baipan Bhari tells the story of the bond of sisterhood, and the demonstrates the importance of such a bond through the difficulties of life. The movie is masterfully done - it's entertaining all throughout. Each of the sisters does seem to have exaggerated attitudes, but this simply adds to the comedic aspect of the movie.

There are indeed big scenes which outwardly might seem unrealistic - like dancing in public places and twists that are improbable in real life. A poorer execution around direction would have been glaringly obvious, but the movie does an incredible job of telling it's story. A standout feature was the acting from each of the cast members - keeping the viewers rapt in the story. For example, the movie depicts a sister going through menopause - something that as a man i won't experience; But the overflow of emotion depicted, the empathy shown by the sisters all combines together to make the viewer experience it second hand.

This is a must watch - a comedy that tells it's story so well that you will laugh at the jokes and cry at the tearful moments. 10/10.

One of the best movie from India
daniel_halo19 July 2023
Very sweet and touching movie. It should be released all over India (dubbed in various Indian languages). It is truly overall a whole pan India movie rather than just a Marathi movie. Great team as all actors are equally good and have equal weightage. I remembered all of the characters even after the movie. Director (Kedar Shinde) is superb. Vaishali Naik (Script writer) is amazing. World renowned Rohini Hattangadi is wonderful. She acts only with her eyes (she talks very less in the movie and this is requitement of the character as it suffers from depression). Stalwart Vandana Gupteji is excellent. Even smaller roles/characters like Anna are good. Sukanya Kulkarnis daughter is just as talented and beautiful like her mother. Though the story is about sisters, brothers will also relate to it as the story is about ups and downs in relationships. Men should certainly watch this movie as they will remember their brothers and sisters while watching it. I have already watched it 4 times. Women as well as men all over in India will relate to this movie. The characters remind us of respected women in our families like mothers/sisters/daughters/aunts/grannys etc. The last mangalagour song and all other songs too are super. Costumes/sarees in last mangalagour song are fantastic. They are similar to famous Paris fashion designers like Yves Saint Laurent etc. The colors of those sarees are extremely beautiful. Great work.

Kharach!!! Baipan Bhaari Deva!
khushbhathena19 August 2023
Just watched Baipan Bhaari Deva. What a fantastic compilation of emotions, empowering spirits, brilliantly showcasing the turmoil every woman goes through. Every character was sensitising about some women centric issue. Sometimes we see her facing her own fears, sometimes fighting her own desires and surprisingly, even competing within her own family. It is like being a lead star in an ongoing play that never seems to end. However strong she may seem, she also needs a breather and she also needs a shoulder to cry on. She also sometimes wants to just take the audience seat and enjoy the play called 'Life'. Every character in the film was well placed and exhibited a different emotion. The movie was screaming loudly to awaken the shrinking desires, the unexpressed emotions and above all empowering the spirit of many women watching it in the audience. Life is a challenge and even bigger for women. Sometimes she puts her dreams aside to fend for the family, sometimes she is successful at work and failing at home, work-life-balance is only a hoax, ask a woman about it. Thanks to the writer, the director and the actors who have done a brilliant job at portraying it. A must watch for every woman! Kharach! Baipan Bhaari Deva 🙏🙏🙏

naveenmaddan6 July 2023
This movie is very useless, this movie has the same story seen again and again, this movie is the story of women empowerment, which we have seen in many Hindi and Punjabi movies, the same dialogue, the same cinematography, the same Environment This movie disappointed me a lot. This film had more Hindi dialogues than Marathi, why was it not declared as a Hindi film, there were some actors in this film who were not speaking Marathi properly, they should have taken admission in Marathi class for this film I should have given it 0 stars but imbd why didn't you put that option is there a reason for this.

One of best marathi movie
kiransingbhat11 February 2024
This film stands out as one of the finest cinematic experiences, boasting an exceptional ensemble cast that delivers performances of unparalleled quality. Every member of the star-studded lineup contributes significantly to the movie's success, showcasing their acting prowess with a level of skill that truly deserves commendation. The collective effort of the cast creates a captivating and memorable viewing experience.

The performances in this movie are nothing short of outstanding, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. Each actor brings their character to life with a depth and authenticity that adds layers to the narrative. It's truly a testament to the talent and dedication of the entire cast, making the film a standout in terms of acting prowess.

Having now witnessed the brilliance of the performances, I find myself regretful for not experiencing this masterpiece on the big screen. The impact of the actors' portrayals, combined with the overall cinematic excellence, would undoubtedly have been even more profound in a theater setting. The film's ability to evoke genuine emotion and captivate the audience is a testament to its quality and the dedication of the talented individuals involved.

In conclusion, this movie not only boasts a stellar cast but also delivers an exceptional cinematic experience. The performances are praiseworthy, leaving an indelible mark on the viewer. The regret of not catching this gem in theaters only serves as a reminder of the film's undeniable brilliance and the need for more opportunities to appreciate such outstanding works on the grand stage.

Ordinary story with good cast makes it a hit
sharithaprabhu15 July 2023
Story is ordinary. End is also predictable. Movie is highly overrated. General tendency is to associate a story to yourself be it in real life or a movie. Thats why this film is doing so well. Actors no doubt have done a good job and the story does get boring at any point. Ppl need a break from mundane hence ppl r thronging theatres. Cast who r natural actors is the plus point of the movie. Marketing was done very nicely. In this age women don't need a movie to inspire them. Women are already liberated. Maybe some years back this movie would have touched a chord. Anyway happy that this film is doing so good. Congratulations to the team💐💐

Waste !!
saptesh78620 May 2024
Though I am Marathi I don't like this movie. No proper story line, lot of ladies, bunch of songs and no tempo in story all made me to feel boring movie. Also don't understand why getting it high rating? I think all are marathi viewers and they only supported to promote Marathi movies. It is fair but movie must be worth it with full of entertainment. Look for popular movies of Ashok Saraf, Mahesh Kothare, Laxmikant Berde, Sachin and Dada Kondke of course for their success. Nowadays Marathi industry is struggling for good and hit movies. They should learn from South film industry who do good fight to bollywood and even better than them.
