A heartfelt story!
SoumikBanerjee19962 March 2023
A movie that embodies hope and optimism in the midst of a never-ending sea of negativity, a storyline whose sole purpose is to advocate the concept of not giving up, not quit fighting, and I believe that given the current situation of unemployment, intolerance, and the subsequent aftereffect of depression; we all need motivation, inspiration, and a purpose to keep going, keep surviving, and I truly believe 'Kacher Manush' offers just that!

P. S. It's amazing to see how much Dev has matured as an artist; previously, I loved him in Buno Haansh, and now this performance of his will be a close second. He was convincing and conveyed all kinds of emotions in a convincing manner!

In the climax, Kuntal,Sudarshan, Alo everone tries to commit suicide to get rid of their painful life. Industrialist Bikas Sengupta saves them all. & the film ends.

Dev as Kuntal convincing. His acting skills are getting improvved with each film. He's delivering good thoughtful films through his production house.

Prasenjit Chartterjee as Sudarshan is very convincing. No one can doubt about his acting skill. He has proven his skill over his long time career.

Isha Saha as Alo(aka Kusum) is good. Her acting is convincing as a sister & as a good friend.

Tulika Roy, Sanjib Sarkar, Pinky, are good in their character roles.

Semior actor Ranjit Mallick plays a cameo role as industrialist Bikas Sengupta.

Music is good by Nilayan Chatterjee. Songs are good.

'Chumbok Mon' by Usha Uthup is very attractive, 'Taka Lage' by Pranjal Biswas is a portait of real life situation of every humanbeing in this current era, 'Mukti Dao' by Sonu Nigam is just a masterpiece. It touches your heart instantly. It's so soulful & deep in meaning.

It's definitely a worth watching film. This kind of films must be released in hindi dubbed also. This'll help our bengali film industry to show our caliber in pan india level.

Decent but extremely depressing and sometimes borderline foolish
Biswas_30 June 2023
Kacher Manush is about two men , who are battling their own serious problems in their lives, meet unexpectedly and ultimately think of ideas to solve their issues only to realise later they are ultimately fighting for one reason.

First things first, the ideas that both Kuntol and Sudarshan come up with initially to sort their problems is just stupid . I mean , there are many other ways of a man sits quietly and thinks but no, they decide that Kuntol should commit suicide and that would give 10 lakh rupees , half of which Sudarshan will use to cure her ailing sister . I mean , this is just beyond stupid at first place and not even real. I know many people commit suicide (which btw is the main topic of this film as will be revealed later) to help their ailing families , but dude who takes a joint decision to commit suicide?? It's pretty unreal even from a fictional perspective.

Second , what i liked was the film actually shows the helplessness of human beings through Kuntol and Sudarshan pretty well. Both are battling their own problems and when one isn't able to win , he starts thinking of evil ways to fulfill it (as showcased by Sudarshan) . A helpless human often stops seeing friends around him but only sees ways for him to get out of problems in his life. Director has aced this angle of the film.

However, in an attempt to showcase this, the director has come up with a film that might put one in depression or sadness . Throughout the film one tries to kill the other or one tries to think ways to commit suicide or one is constantly reminded of Sudarshan's sister ailing condition or shown glimpses of the failures of the two men etc everything i mentioned here is enough to give you a depression stroke.

The climax is another point where again the characters become foolish . Keeping in mind not to give out spoilers, i would say the climax is again depressing but felt more like a triangle of killing attempts and misunderstandings that may even become borderline funny to some people seeing how foolish the characters are .

Dev, Prosenjit and Isha all three of done a very good job though. Prosenjit is the real star while Dev has relatively lesser dialogues. What i liked was Dev and Isha's romantic angle was not introduced just for the sake of having a romantic angle but has importance later, big importance to be precise.

Few songs are really good in this film.

Overall, a decent one time watch but most of the time you will have a sad expression on your face watching this and also the film is not short of jarring flaws .

Marvelous

We generally get to watch repetitive thriller films in same format but this film is totally different from all other thriller film the film teaches us to give value to our own life. The film is extremely well made film the presentation is totally different from all thriller genre films it has dark comedy but not double meaning like bollywood is doing. Celebrate this film because this film will teach you how to celebrate life. The film gives you very well climax and the action scenes are also too much realistic this film is not like typical south Indian film like Pushpa and RRR which which will show you illogical action scenes.

At last the acting:- Dev and Bumba Daa rocked it The chemistry was extremely good between all the actor and actresses the film will make you emotional and also make you laugh it's a total true masala entertainer package all the best to Dev Entertainment Ventures thank you for gifting us this thriller movie all the best Dev for your future projects we are there with you Overall it's a definite watch go and watch this film with your friends and family.

Awesome Acting & Story & Song
sudarshansanyal2 October 2022
Bumba da's acting is too good❤.

Dev's acting is also good. I also love him❤

Isha & Bumba da's bonding as brother-sister is awesome! & memorable.

Recommend watching this Bengali film in the Cinema hall. The direction of this film is also very good. The story of this film makes your life easier to think about how you can handle certain pressure & come out with a new zeal from it without thought of ruining your life. Thanks.

Songs- Mukti dao, Koli juge bachte gele take lage..awesome & thoughtful.

The direction & screenplay are very good.

Kacher Manush will give us a message that people have something to do in their life..so don't commit suicide unnecessarily.

Hopelessly pathetic, wastage of money & time
ananyomukherjeeslg1 October 2022
Wanted to watch a standard Bengali movie during this Puja. Took my family alongwith. The plot was weak from the beginning but the first half was bearable with some good moments specially the romantic ones and strong acting from Bumbada and Esha. The songs are good and shot very well. But after the interval, nothing can pull up the crappy load of pathetic screenplay and storyline. Nothing was sincere and convincing. Every minute i was praying to the movie god " ar choras na, ar choras na". But alas. By that time, director was grappling to find any tiny bit of story left to be screened but couldn't find one. So, 'golper goru totokhone gach chere akashe'. Nothing could have saved the movie by then, not even the strong casting. Such a pathetic waste of resources. Couldn't even stay on our seats till the end. Expectations shattered, time and money wasted. But nothing came close to the sadness to feel sorry for the unfortunate fall of Bengal cinema. Bengali directors and filmmakers seem to have lost every connection with their audience and even reality. Painful.

Torture
raktimghanta30 September 2022
First of all it's a adapted film but in a dishonest manner. It's totally a bogus film. Disgusting writing, wrong characterisation & weak acting. An old school format dragged story. There are a lot of loop holes in everywhere. I'm very much disappointed. Direction is totally dull. Climax is the most irritating part of this movie. Songs are not use properly. The dialogues are also horrible. Many scenes are not connected with previous one. If anyone already watched "Jiban Kahini' (1964), available on Klikk or Partner (2008), available on YouTube, I don't suggest them to go to watch this worst film.

Expectations shattered
debomitabasu4 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I watched this film with my family at Nandan cinema hall with loads of expectations..As I came out of theatre, I started realizing what a horrible movie it was!!

First of all if we all comment on casting I will rate 2/10 two because of average acting of Isha and Bumbada.

Concept was good that's why I rated 1/10 but very poor execution

An adapted film, with improper songs, dialogues, creativity and above all acting... Such poor acting presentation ruined my mind and becoming least bothered of Bengali film industry.. Expectations shattered money wasted .. The concept and message of not committing suicide unnecessarily was not at all justified.. Romantic scenes seems joke to me!! Again some nuisance scenes like Kishmish.. Very bad very bad.. pls bengali film industry..buck up!! Everything was the worst.

Rubbish
chattarajriya24 May 2023
I wish I could give this movie a zero star.

Horrible scene, dialogue, all together not worthy at all. The complete story is based on nonsense and nothing. Poor acting of both Dev and Prasenjeet. Pathetic punchlines, worst climax I have ever seen in any movie.

Had to tolerate the whole movie hoping to get atleast some good part of the film, but no they have planned for something else for you to give u super headache. Story is nowhere connected from beginning to end. Unnecessary comedy scenes will give you heartattack. Dev should leave his acting career and find something else where he can be fit for his job role.

Super NO from my end!

Take ur own risk and watch the movie.

I generally don't pass negative comments but it wasted super crucial 3 hrs of my valuable time hence I have every right to give a review of this movie.

The movie, is it really trying to reduce suicide rate, by inducing more of the ideas?
wwwshalder24 July 2023
I have seen hemlock society, clearly it has the motto to reduce suicide rates and it was picturised beautifully. But this movie, I found to be a drama, far away from the reality. Like, if Kuntol has to ultimately find a job, he could've done that before even thinking about suicide. He meets a person and suddenly decides to die as per the person's plan, then suddenly he says he doesn't wanna die because he knew already that the person is a fraud. Are you serious? Do you understand what a person goes through that they decide to end their life? Please don't make fun of that. I request. I respect Dev da a lot and I would definitely want him to make more meaningful movies in the future like projapoti!
