Secret Life of a Parson's Wife.

Warning: Spoilers
Don't expect glamorous Maggie Smith as Susan, a dowdy parson's wife with lots of secrets in this episode of the British Anthology series "Talking Heads". She is as plainly dressed as they come, although her hairstyle gets more stylish as the 50 minute film wraps up. Smith in character reveals every secret a woman can possibly admit, from her alcoholism and surprising infidelities to her judgments about her husband, the other parishioners and what is expected in such a life as hers. Susan theorizes about some of her husband's sermons, what religion means to her, and what she has learned from her journey into an earthy hell and back again. You get the impression that this character knows and loves the fact that she is a sinner, enjoying every minute of it, yet aware that she at one point will have to atone for her sins. That makes this a revealing look at a supposed church lady and really how human they truly are beneath all of the pomp and circumstance.
