The Fall of a Hero
rommedahl-06037 January 2013
This episode is the symbol of all that I love about "Chuck", and it had me glued to the screen from start to finish.

The episodes starts off with some of Chuck's wonderful awkwardness as he is at the headquarters in DC to meet with the general. Then it switches to his heartbreaking and seemingly impossible mission to get Sarah back. And it ends with a painful cliffhanger. Perfect!

The character development of Shaw was inevitable, but still heartbreaking as my feelings towards him is mixed (I mean, he stole Sarah for Christ's sake!). All in all a very emotional episode that sets off a story line that I am looking much forward to dig in to.

Over Sara

I like this show, and overall, it's very good. But I am over Sarah's emotional constipation. Chuck has professed his love for her many times, and although we all know she loves him, she won't admit it. And now, she's a hypocrite. She tells Chuck she can't be with him because he killed someone. But she has killed many people through her career. If she would give him a chance, she'd see that he is the same person he's always been. She won't listen to him and give him the benefit of the doubt about the killing.

Disappointing that she hops into a relationship with Shaw so quickly. And even more disappointing that she rubs that in Chuck's face.

The spies who love her
neil-walker-safc30 June 2020
As what would have been the penultimate episode of the entire programme, until it got extended by another 9 episodes, events lead up to what you might think of as having a happy ending.

But as usual there are twists and turns, and a slight overdose of the Sarah /Chuck technique of sentences or scenes being ended prematurity before the message was seen. One can only guess out of the hundreds they've had, whether out of camera range they've relayed it to the other in subsequent days 😉

However, we do finally get to have one moment to ourselves when we can say 'get in!'

You can see the Shaw storyline was rushed, but that does not detract from the quality of this episode. Another superb action episode.

And as usual buy more has some great scenes and the jeffster duo is just magnificent.

I still find it odd that Sarah manages to have loved every spy she's worked with (casey excepted!) and finds it in her to want to spend her days with Shaw despite all that chuck offers.

Guess we'll have to wait for next episode to find out.

Garbage
skay_baltimore1 August 2022
This episode, like most of Season 3, is garbage. There is no creativity when it comes to the writing (i.e. How many times can Chuck walk in on Sarah and see her kissing someone else?), no logic to any of the plot arcs, substituting melodrama for real drama (this wouldn't even make a halfway decent soap opera it's that bad), and no point in continuing to watch this nonsense any longer. The worst thing that can happen to a TV show is when it attempts to be a parody and ends up being a cliche laughing stock of itself.
