- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: [Speaking of a lawyer] Oh, acts like she hates me, but... she talks like she... likes me.
- Dr. Donald Mallard: Ever been married to her?
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: [Chuckles] Yeah, that would explain it, wouldn't it?
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Hey boss, I got an article here that you may want to read. I can send the link to your email or text the link to your phone.
- [Gibbs stares at him]
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Or I can just print it out on paper and give it to you in your hand.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: Revolutionary concept, McGee.
- Abby Sciuto: What kind of name is "Mallison"?
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: It's "M. Allison Hart". I think they're missing some punctuation.
- Dr. Donald Mallard: McGee seems to have an instinct for this one. Perhaps baby bird is ready to leave the nest.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: So McGee, do you know what killed Lt Commander Sayers?
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: I think I do.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: You *think*, or you *know*?
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: I know one thing, his jetpack exploded.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: Jetpacks...? Yeah, it's going to be a weird one.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: You were looking to pick a fight.
- Margaret Allison Hart: I didn't pick this fight. But now that I've met you - I'm *glad* to be in it!
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Can't believe the Mexican authorities dropped the charges against Colonel Bell. Colonel Bell. Wonder if there's any relationship to Bell Labs. Bell Labs: inventors of the rocket belt. Rocket belt's an amazing model. It's a catalyst that decomposes hydrogen peroxide into pressurized steam and oxygen. You get significant thrust from lightweight rockets for about thirty seconds...
- [Gibbs nonchalantly slabs McGee's head]
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: I got it, McGee. You know a lot about jet packs.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: It was his!
- Ziva David: What was?
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: The pack. It didn't belong to either of the Tillmans, it belonged to Sayers.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: He built his own jet pack?
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: The pack uses fighter jet engineering. That's the missing piece. Sayers ripped off the technology from both of the Tillmans and...
- Ziva David: He borrowed from the Navy, as well, to build his own version, which used the best of all three.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: But it crashed.
- Ziva David: So, it was not very good.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: That was the intention. The intention was to crash. To dispose of the body where it wouldn't be discovered.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: It was pretty far off the beaten path.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Any decent pilot could have flown it.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: How about a great pilot? Sheridan wanted the job with Tillman. Petitioned the Navy for it.
- Ziva David: But Sayers took that, then picked up a second one.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Sheridan loses out twice, probably doesn't respond well to that.
- Ziva David: Gonna pull the squadron's psych profiles.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Let's double check their paperwork, scan their files for engineering backgrounds. Need to talk to Gibbs.
- [McGee looks around and notices Gibbs isn't at his desk]
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Where is Gibbs?
- [Tony, smirking, points at his desk phone]
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: [on speaker] Right here, Elf Lord.
- Jimmy Palmer: If you're sure I'm ready, Doctor.
- Dr. Donald Mallard: Mr. Palmer, the time has come for you to fly solo. The body is all yours.
- [Jimmy takes a scalpel and bends over the body of a dead squirrel, but hesitates]
- Jimmy Palmer: Dr. Mallard, I am suddenly overcome with a desire to share a story of only a peripherally relevant nature.
- Dr. Donald Mallard: It's a hazard of the profession, Mr. Palmer.
- Vanessa Tillman: Do you have any idea how annoying it can be to spend all your time with a, quote, "brilliant man"?
- Ziva David: [deadpan] No. What is that like?
- Vanessa Tillman: He can never listen to an idea that wasn't his. So stubborn.
- Ziva David: [looks at Tony] Oh! I do know what that is like.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: All right, gonna need to get a look at Tillman's financials. I'm gonna stay here.
- [to DiNozzo and Ziva]
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: You two - go out and talk to him.
- Ziva David: So McGee is not coming to the jet pack factory?
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: Ok, well, you get your homework done, and - and then you can go out an play with the neighbor kids.
- [DiNozzo chuckles slightly]
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: Good boy.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: [DiNozzo and Ziva leave. To McGee] The price of being in charge.
- [Allison Hart unexpectedly shows up at Vanessa Tillman's workshop]
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: She's your client, too?
- Margaret Allison Hart: If she wishes to be. And I would advise her at this time to refrain from speaking to you.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: You also represent her ex-husband. That's not a conflict of interest?
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: The military experiments with jetpacks?
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: [scoffs] No... well, yeah, they did, but...
- [He lets out a sigh and glances at Ziva, who nods. Tony begins to recite]
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: "After years of testing various designs, ultimately they decided helicopters were more practical for earth-atmosphere flight..."
- Ziva David: "Although NASA's compressed gas-powered man-maneuvering unit evolved from Bell Systems's rocket belt technology..."
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: "'Rocket belt' being the original terminology rather than the more colloquial 'jetpack... '"
- Ziva David: McGee's very passionate about the subject. We spend a lot of time here, just the three of us.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: I was telling him about the bonus features section on the "Thunderball" DVD, which were pretty interesting, and he says, "um, Tony, bonus features aren't science", and so he...
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: He schooled you.
- Ziva David: Yep.
- [McGee takes control of the killer's jetpack by remote control]
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: Wow, it works!
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Oh, this is sweet.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: He's like a hummingbird... I wanna fly him!
- [He grabs for McGee's remote control]
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: Come on-!
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Tony, no, you're gonna break it-!
- [the killer wavers in mid-air]
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: McGee, get him down!
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Bringing him down, Boss.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: Sayers had rat poison in his system. Abby confirmed it.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: So he was impaired while he was flying. In Commander Cody's brave new world, we're gonna be pulling people out of the sky for FUI's - F.U.I.'s.
- Ziva David: So the crash did not kill him?
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: Well, it didn't help.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: [narrating his own short film] This is a public demonstration in 1961. Functional technology nearly half a century ago. Measure that against progress in other arenas - internal combustion engine, radio, television, the Internet - in fifty years, they go from impossible to practical to ubiquitous. Meanwhile, *they* keep the jet pack relegated to the world of science fiction...
- [McGee pauses the film]
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: "They"? The Jet Pack Conspiracy?
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Well, Boss, if you look at it, it's really the only logical explanation...
- Victor Tillman: I liked Sayers. He was a great guy. What motive would I have to kill him? It wasn't even my pack.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: He was being paid by your ex-wife.
- Victor Tillman: ...That son of a bitch!
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: So you didn't know?
- Victor Tillman: No, I didn't know! Of course I didn't know! If I'd known, I would have...!
- [McGee raises an eyebrow]
- Victor Tillman: I would have fired him. She was my top competitor.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Locally.
- Victor Tillman: Well, yeah, the Kiwis got a big jump on me.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: And the Swiss.
- Victor Tillman: Oh, come on, a collapsible wing? It's great for distance...
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: But without hover capability, it'll always be for professionals, I know.
- [Gibbs coughs gently, telling McGee to get back on track]
- Ziva David: There's nothing good on the Internet anymore.
- Special Agent Timothy McGee: Yeah, I think that Internet thing has just about run its course.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: What's the point of the squirrel?
- Jimmy Palmer: Oh, we believe his cause of death may be related to Sayers's.
- Dr. Donald Mallard: In desperate situations, where the food supplies are scarce, squirrels will eat almost anything, including human flesh.
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: The fire eliminated all the other options.
- Jimmy Palmer: Yeah, and we have to inventory Rocket J.'s stomach to confirm its contents, but initial dental impressions suggest that his last meal was Sayers's soft tissues.
- Margaret Allison Hart: Hello, I believe you're holding my client.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: I'd be happy to hold anything you need.
- Vanessa Tillman: Whenever two people try to extricate their lives from each other, friction is inevitable.
- Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo: Hmm, that true, Boss?
- Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: We're you ever a redhead? Because it sure feels like I know you.
- Margaret Allison Hart: No. But, I know you.
