At first, the only reason I recognized the name Kieran Culkin is because he's related to the "Home Alone" kid. Kieran was hilarious! His Jason Mraz impression was dead-on. Ed Sheeran delivered as always. Let me tell you something. James Austin Johnson was a HUGE standout. He may only be a featured player, but he's well on his way to being a star. His Trump impression in the cold open was unbelievable. He perfectly captured Trump's voice. This was a great episode!

Really solid show.

I happened to like this week's show. There is always a stinker here and there but this week's was solid; outstanding in some. In my opinion, Cecily Strong is most talented cast member. She owns her characters and gets better every year. Her "Judge Jeanine" character is priceless. The "clown abortion at 23" was very good and you have to read between the lines to get it.
Speaking of the Judge Jeanine segment, James Austin Johnson's debut of Trump was jaw-droppingly excellent. Adam Baldwin's was great, albiet campy, but Johnson's was spot on; the mannerisms, cadence, his ignorant and buffoonish rants - nailed it.
Kieran Culkin was really good. My favorite segment was the cable cancellation skit. He plays a young man trying to terminate his cable service with Spectrum. If anyone, like me, has or had their service, you will relate. If you haven't and thought it was over-the-top satire, you would be wrong!!! A slight parody at best. The company is a nightmare and I can attest to a couple of things I related to: I cancelled the TV portion because we stream; a month later they added it back and sent is MORE equipment (I hadn't sent the other stuff back), they added a fee for the app which we said we DIDNT want, they talk about their personal lives (don't care and I get why I wait so long to get someone on the phone), etc. Okay, I was never transferred to Dominos but I never have a problem with them.
I just pray they continue on an upward slope because I'm actually enjoying it this year, except the Kim Kardashian episode. That was a blatant grab for people who follow her. I would think it would be past her fans' bedtimes and they wouldn't get the satire. You have to have a thick skin and open mind to watch this.

His Trump impersonation in the Cold Open was SOO good and his voice and mannerisms were so well done!! Hope to see more of his Trump in other episodes! Most bad ratings are from overly sensitive Trump supporters. It's just a sketch, relax!
The best in a long time

This was such a great episode and it brought a lot of hope for the future direction of the show. James Austin Johnson finally got to do his incredible Trump and I cant believe it took them this long, but I'm so happy it was so well received! Ive been following him for a while and was so happy when he and Sarah Squirm were announced to join (Office Hours fan here Seffay feff)
Poor showing

Another poor outing this season for SNL, the lack of good workers must've hit the SNL writing staff, along with the rest of the world, this year.
Apparently they don't know "how" to write for their guests anymore, so they just don't. Kieran was in only 2 live skits, and barely had any dialogue in them. Dionne Warwick had more lines in her segment than the guest host, did. Why are these decisions being made this year?
Hire better writers who can actually write for their talent. The new "Donald Trump" cast member does a decent impression though, I'll admit. I won't comment on the musical guest since I fast forwarded through it (lol).

Saturday Night Flop

I usually love SNL, but i don't know why they have to get so political on half of their skits. It would be one thing if the jokes were well thought out and funny, but they are just low-blows at Republicans and Libertarians. The entire opening scene was trash and not even remotely funny. Also why have off brand Home Alone on the show? No one knows who he is unless they've seen one specific tv show on HBO Max. Do better SNL stop being so political, and give Kyle Mooney and Please Don't Destroy more skits.
