TAJ DIVIDED BY BLOOD:-a historical drama undone somewhat by screenplay issues and loud acting
puranjanbasak17 March 2023
Taj divided by blood is a historical drama show directed by ron scalpello.

Naseeruddin shah and aashim gulati are the two bright spots in the otherwise dull acting department. Both of them bring the fragile yet compassionate male presence in the show. Taha shah badussha kept screaming throughout, making it unbearable to watch him. Only scene invloving him providing me comfort is when he asks and contemplates about what he needs to do to gain akbar's praise. Aditi rao hydari has been mostly wasted in the show. None of the other characters infuse life into the characters.

The writing treats the characters as pieces and not humans. Daniyal's mother problems could have been so meticulously designed giving him so much depth but alas! The plot twist surrounding this does work well though. Murad was almost devoid of any emotion other than rage and screams. The screenplay is entertaining no doubt but is not engaging and nuanced. The middle episodes are stretched without much substance which give the feel of a soap opera.

The set and production design is marvellous. The palace and locations can transport you in the medieval india. The action set pieces are very loud and amateurishly staged. The vfx work is patchy here and there.

The dialogues are well written and interpreted. It could have been more effective if the characters saying them had a better dialogue delivery. The cinematography looks monotonous and stifled.

The show highlights the frailties and faults of the mughal dynasty quite successfully. Familial feuds were a common occurrence in most of the dynasties, especially in the mughal family. The concept of harem and multiple wives have been criticised heavily through slight pokes. The mughals used the rajputs as their source of false sense of integrity, using them as cover for their barbarism and social weddings. Maharana pratap has been cherished in this series. Akbar was the most lenient of the mughal rulers, and he really thought about the hindus but bound by his surrounding barbaric muslim courtsmen, he could not do much.

The background score is grand and pushes the show towards its good. The strings, and operal sounds work well in favour of the show.

Not as expected

Warning: Spoilers
Mistakes are there as you all know the history.whether is Murad's death ( in history books he died in 1599 ) and Birbal 's death (1586 but not by akbar's brother as shows in series) .according to the series ,this timeframe is near about 1580 to 1587 ,shows very old Akbar in this series . Not as expected from this series because of their character were very old . Director makes a big mistake by not showing real timeline according to history, this might leads to bad characters and their hochtpoch timeframe.

Very bad at writing the script.

No need to watch.if you don't know the history you love the series.

Nice

In this, Naseer ji shines brightest among all his other accomplishments. Amazing work. I eagerly await each new installment of these series. First, I mistook the actor playing Saleem for Aditya Roy Kapoor because of how well he played the role. The film appears to be of high quality, therefore I will definitely watch it. Job well done All of the actors are top-notch, and the script is superb. All of the acts completely floored me. Includes a cameo appearance by Dharmendra. I've seen Dharam Paji twice before, and I can recognize him by his aura and what he said. If a TV series is truly magnificent, viewers will likely binge-watch the entire thing in one sitting.

Don't believe false propaganda

I recommend everyone to watch this epic masterpiece series like any other series!

Acting, Cinematography, Story, Direction, Costume designing, background score, Lighting, Set, is all brilliant.

It has all the elements on right place. Naseeruddin Shah is the heart of this Series.

After a very long time, there comes a great series from India.

Something never done in indian series till date.

Sadly nowadays we judge all the shows and movies based on religion.

I don't know Why people just don't accept their history as it is. If you don't like history just go back in time and change it.

My rating is 8/10.

Go for it, don't miss it at any cost.

Very good

Dharmendra Ji, a legendary figure in Bollywood, makes his debut in this movie. Seeing him perform is well worth your time, even if nothing else. Naseeruddin Shah is notable for his easy charm and sense of style in addition to Dharmendra. Now, this series is receiving nothing but positive reviews on the internet. Although storytelling isn't bad, it might be. A must-see, but not for everyone, for lovers of Naseeruddin Shah and Dharmendra. Although it is true that Bollywood films based on the Mughal Empire are more concerned with show than with accuracy, you may still have fun while watching them.

The 21st century rendition of the most iconic Indian love story
vishallallwani7 March 2023
One episode into the series, I was hooked on to the magnitude and the detailing of this legendary chapter from our history books.

Watching Nasseruddin Shah as Akbar is a treat in itself. The poise he brings to the character is one for the ages. The music, the set design, the cinematography, the lighting, the writing, the dialogues, everything seems to be coming together really well. I hate to use this cliché but it does have a very international "Game Of Thrones" feel to it's treatment which is refreshing to see for the Indian audience. A brilliant attempt by the film maker. Waiting for season 2!

The throne

Sameer lodaya

The series is all about the throne of emperor Akbar

The series is made in extravagance manner like the costumes ,the locations ,the palaces ,the fights ,the ornaments very rare we get to see this Every small details have been captured very well and has explained minutely

Every actor has contributed their best in all faces like anger ,hatred ,emotions ,love ,jealousy

The climax was concluded very well as they elongated salims character and made him ready to carry the 2nd season.

Watch it to brush your history

Many reviewers have given high stars and have mentioned MOVIE in their titles why all this let the series get recommendations organically.

The books in the Divided by Blood series are fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time; that's how intriguing it was. Each of the characters is well out and easy to follow. The entire time I was reading Taj: Split by Blood, I was transported to another world. The sequences of violence are created with both suspense and realism in mind for maximum enjoyment. This is a must-see for any enthusiast of adventure or fantasy. The fantastic visual effects raise the bar significantly. A high-quality TV show.

27. The characters come alive on screen because to the excellent acting. I've recently discovered that Taj's Split by Blood series is one of my favorites of all time. The environment of Taj: Split by Blood is well developed, adding to the story's realism and immersion. Taj: Divided By Blood's central premise is novel and exciting since it has never been tried before. There aren't enough superlatives I can use to describe the novel Divided By Blood, which is centered on Taj. Simply said, this is a work of art. The novel Taj: Divided By Blood has a lot of surprising turns that left me guessing till the very end.

amazing sets, camerawork, costumes and great screenplay.
piratep-039878 June 2023
Loved watching the series. The attention to detail was absolutely commendable. The sets and costumes were so well designed and executed. The camerawork was stunning as well, capturing the grandeur and majesty of the Mugal era.

However, my one complaint would be that they should have given similar attention to the character of Maharana Pratap. Would have loved to see the character of Maharana Pratap being played by some legendary actor such as Punnet Issar, with the same dignity as he had done in Bharat ek Khoj.

Would love to see the sequels and more such webseries with such similar sincere efforts.

Yet another effort to put a narrative.
subhindia6 March 2023
Being a history student I read lot about the subject. The presentation here is totally opposite. Mughals were the most liberal, had lot of love and respect of India and had contributed lot of good thing for India is the message that created has tried to portray. Acting wise only Nasir Sir is good but rest are okay okay to below average. VFX is very naïve and even a school student can figure out that this particular scene is fake. I don't understand and don't know when Hindi movie director would start taking audience seriously. If there would have option for zero rating, I would have given it, but I don't have option so giving only one star.

Fantastic, Engaging ,Soap operaish ,Great cast
bloominpeonies6 March 2023
Two things - First don't expect historical authenticity from the show .. And second don't expect a lot of depth from the story ..

But if you watch the show solely for entertainment, it is a fantastic series .I watched it in one sitting , that is how addictive it is .The characters , interpersonal relationships and the drama was very soap opera like and very engaging .There wasn't a dull moment in the show .. Also the visuals though not mounted on a grand scale look very authentic .

Also the treatment of the story is different from what we are used to seeing in Indian historical dramas and this is when I realized the writers are not Indian .. The show overall is fresh and a must watch , especially for people who like edge of the seat historical thrillers .

Now can't wait for the second season .

First of all if you want to watch for entertainment purposes only then go for it. But if you are historical story lover then leave it.

Acting and story wise not upto the mark. There are plenty of good actors/ess but these cast are not good at this level.

Better watch some other entertainment shows recently released on Prime and Hotstar.

What a show. This one looks grand. Saw the first 3 Episodes looking forward for the rest of it. Great way of knowing about the unknown facts of history. The story, the cast, the vfx, the shot taking is so different. I don't think I have seen anything of this level in the ott platform before. I like how every character is standing out and has played their part to the T. The dialogues are very interesting and gripping. Love the entry of Anarkali she has really played it well and couldn't thinknif anyone else for this character. Naseer ji has so much hold in every scene. I am looking forward for the further episodes of the show.

Must watch if you're a fan
farhan-3088112 March 2023
Good acting, but they might need to detail the history in depth, some incorrect information is there.

There's too much speeding of the episodes, sometimes I need to check did I skipped any episodes. Also at some they slowed the story regardless of knowing the obvious.

They need to slow down and detailed the episodes with worth watching it. I am going to miss Anarkali in next season. As its going to be all about Salim.

Perhaps I'm excited to see second season.

Hope they release it soon.

BTW - Must say Anarkali and Akbar acted too well.

Hope to see next season soon, good job entire team and cast for making such series.

nairhitar3 March 2023
I always prefer history, just visited Agra and Delhi...Akbar is my favourite for his respect and view on our religion.

Watch it u will enjoy but one thing needs to be changed that Salim was not "Takht e taj" ka bhukha ; as per real history he was hungry for power. Akbar loved his grandsons more than his sons, and he was all time best the similarity b/w both Akbar and Salim was - they both stopped slaughtering of Cows.

They both loved Hindus unlike Aurangzeb.

Watch without thinking twice, Nd Akbar thoda young hota to aur zyada acha lagta but acting of everyone was superb 👍🏻. A Must watch WS...

True example of wrong history
pradeepgoyalk5 June 2023
If anyone wants to see a historical comedy series then Taj is real example. Fort of emperors are like garden - anyone can go in and anyone can go out - no security nothing. Real odd figure is Akbar. Such a short personality which is weakest thing of entire webseries. Nothing to do with reality. I dont know how it got through to OTT. All events shown are way away from reality. Real time waste and such writer ahould be banned who play with facts and real history. All kings and princes are like jokers twisted by their ministers. How come a king has no sense and decision making capabilities. Another useless character is Anarkali.

Amazing and nothing else
Thepunjabiviewer6 March 2023
Anyone can debate history and dig it but as a film this whole series is just amazing.

The story the pace , direction and potryal of historic characters that we have read about in our history books is just astounding.

I will not get into details of the story but there is absolutely no other story or film that is a good as this of course minus the classic deleep Kumar film that still stands out . But this one is not as subtle and brings all characters to life as never seen or read before.

As a film It stands out who ever played saleem is good only one guy known is nassiruddin shah . Loved it absolutely must watch.

Typical Bollywood inspired Fake Story
gaureshkocharekar13 September 2023
Too much Cinematic Liberty. Mismatched history timelines. Everything is mismatched with original timeline. Sher Afgan was out of agra for 9+ months still mehar-un-nissa got pregnant 😂😂.. how ?Birbal got killed in Lahor mission.. Mirza Hakim got killed in 1585 AD ... Director took liberty just to throw lovestory angle.

In actual Mehr-un-nissa came into picture after Jahangir's coronation. After birth of shahajah they forgot to show his mother jagat gossai. Akbar spent his 15 years at lahore director forgot to show this. Jahanhir was never exile for 15 years. He was rebel hardly for 4 years.....

Excellent

I really like the way everyone is looking. The surprise element was watching Dharmendra sir in this attire. The dialogue delivery of sir at this age is also so strong and effective. The show has a great set of new comers like the guy who is playing Daniyal has great sense of acting and has a hold on every scene. The sets are grand and the shot taking is very different. The best part is also the background score for every situation which gives a great feel for the overall scene. The war in the 2nd episode looks outstanding it shows the hardwork that must have gone into shooting and the VFX looks nice too.

This series provides an outstanding introduction to the Mughal Empire. I anticipate seeing something authentic on television. Everyone in front of and behind the camera has labored very diligently!!! Sir Dharam's ascent to the throne. This is a program that I will definitely watch. Dharam paaji, Naseer sir, and Aditi Rao hydari deserve all the credit. A novel interpretation of the Salim Anarkali legend. This is the first time I have encountered something like. That is a sharp contrast to typical Bollywood entertainment and extremely gloomy. Determine which organization will organize the next demonstration.

I watched the Taj Web Series and it this thrilling all the way from starting to climax. The written of story such a generic way that you will get monotonous in every sequence. This is all about history and all this environment created in it are representing to a significant about past history. I think this rectify more who wants to know such a interesting & fabulous Indian history. This is all based on true facts characterized and motioned perfectly. I am overwilling to say that everyone should watch this "Taj: divided By Blood". After all this excellent and vfx is also amazing. Plz watch everyone once.

Inappropriate Chef
sanjeevanwar9 March 2023
Anwar Says: The Indian reply to Games of Throne , is a story of vilified dynasty presented by a complete foreign team except the dialogues writer , the weakest part. Ron Scalpello has chosen the most dramatic part of Mughal History, the fading days of Akbar's rule and the story centre around looking for successor but failed to scale and also in execution.

Veterans like K. Asif, Kamal Amrohi and in recent times Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ashutosh Gowariker presented glimpses of Mughalia Saltanat in their works. Director has chosen a perfect cast and who else than Nassiruddin Shah is playing the aging Akbar but he looks more like Albert Einstein and his emotions are hardly expressive. Dharmendra was given top name in credits but appeared just for a scene. Aditi Rao Haidri looked a natural mystical. Rahul Bose is unable to come out of his typical accent. Aashim Gulati as Salim has a distinct charm .

Taj- Divided by Blood is a dish with right ingredients but in hands of wrong chef. Had real twist and turns but ultimately finds dead end . The director even compromised on costumes, should have taken SLB as advisor. 5 out of 10 from me.

#ZEE5 #anwarsays #reignsofakbar #mughalempire #nasiruddinshah #aditiraohydari #RahulBose #successoriented #webseries2023 #ronaldscalpello #belowexpectation.

Warning: Spoilers
See the young actor Dharmendra ji emerge into his first major cinema role. If for no other reason, you should at least go see him perform. Notwithstanding Dharmendra, Naseeruddin Shah is well-known for his own effortless charisma and refined taste. Right now, fans of this series are all over the internet singing its praises. The tale itself isn't terrible, but it might be better. Anyone interested in Dharmendra and Naseeruddin Shah should definitely check it out. Although it's true that Bollywood productions based on the Mughal Empire are more interested in spectacle than in reality, that doesn't mean they aren't entertaining.

Why distort History?
Innacana17 May 2023
The show supposed to be promising and portraying the life of the Mughals, specially their tricks, politics and stories. But this show is full of historical errors and some of the events are completely opposite than the reality. Why is this show distorting historical events, or characters? These minor changes are not helping the show either. Not sure if it's against the law to falsify historical information, unless this show is a fiction.

Actors selected are not well fit to the historical persons in this show, specially Jahangir. VFX in this show is awful and some of the graphics are just laughable.

Some of the dialogues are so cringeworthy and horrendous. Mughals did not speak or act in certain ways that this show tried to portray. I guess the show creators made the Mughals look like Indian serial dialogues and acting, similar to Ekta Kapoor serials.
