This Canadian-themed episode is a follow-up to Oh Canada? (2021), which introduced the characters of Canuck Bill and Goalie Fisher.
"Toon In with Me: Canada" features the return of Canuck Bill (the Cartoon Curator) and Goalie Fisher ("Goldie Fisher's Canadian Relative") from Oh Canada? (2021), and introduces the characters of Uncool Sam ("100% Canadian, Eh?", Canadian analogue of Sockeye Sam, the semi-intelligent sock puppet), Samuel Q. Snowplow ("Snow Plow Operator", Canadian counterpart of Southern gentleman Samuel Q. Steamboat), and Canadian P.M. ("Friendly Diplomat"). Other featured recurring characters are Tüüni the Tuna (Toony's Estonian counterpart) and Boxcar (the versatile tramp, seen here at the anchor desk as a "Box News Reporter").
At the time this episode first aired, Tease for Two (1965) and Along Came Daffy (1947) had not yet been released on DVD or Blu-ray, though they were available in restored prints on the HBO Max streaming service.
The Canadian Prime Minister ("Friendly Diplomat") personally selects the Wile E. Coyote cartoon Highway Runnery (1965), in honor of Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender Mike Smith, whose goalie mask was painted with the face of Wile E. Coyote during his years playing for the Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes of the NHL.
Goldie Fisher's Canadian relative, Goalie Fisher, carries a hockey stick and has a penchant for body checking, but while it's clear that she's an ice hockey player/enthusiast, there's nothing to suggest that she's a goaltender ("goalie").
