Cenk Batu – Forget-me-not
Tweekums6 September 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This instalment of 'Cenk Batu' sees him going undercover at an aeronautics company where details of a new engine design appear to have been leaked. While hacking into his boss's computer he discovers that somebody has got there first; given the sophistication it is almost certainly a foreign power. After a few weeks there he is offered a promotion and invited out to dinner by his boss… unfortunately his boss is found dead that night; apparently having committed suicide. His replacement quickly cancels Cenk's promotion and makes it clear he wants Cenk out of the company making it imperative that he uncovers the leak quickly. Meanwhile, at his old boss's funeral, he meets Mia Andergast; a woman who claims to be the man's illegitimate daughter who had just found her father. It isn't long before Cenk is in a relationship with Mia… but is she as innocent as she appears?

This was another enjoyable story which managed to be distinctly different to the previous two. Thankfully it was quickly explained that his undercover job didn't involve any technical understanding of the work the company did, otherwise it would have felt too unrealistic. The question of who leaked the information and to whom was intriguing as was the question of how Cenk's boss really died. Mehmet Kurtulus continues to a good job as Cenk and Désirée Nosbusch impresses as Mia; it made a refreshing change to have a love interest character who wasn't considerably younger than the male protagonist… in fact she is slightly older. When the case is finally solved there aren't too many surprises but it is handled well and was a bit more emotional than one might expect. Overall a decent episode.
