Marcus Harwell: David

Quotes

  • [first lines]

David : [on phone]  Hey, it's David. I can't have him here this afternoon. He can't be here today. I have guests.

  • David : Paulo needed a new phone. He's had that one for two months.

Roger : God damn it, David, why do you have to be so you? Why can't you be like somebody else? Like everybody else for once?

  • Virgil : Don't be jealous 'cause I never gain a pound.

    David : I'm not jealous, I'm appreciative.

  • Paulo : Oh, my God, you were saving yourself?

    David : Whose-a-what's-its?

Paulo : Oh, you wouldn't understand Mr. White-Boy. You slept with the whole marching band in high school.

David : Well, it was a dare. I couldn't back down. Even had three of them claiming to be straight. And it was one at a time.

  • David : I want it all.

Roger : [referencing his swim trunks]  David, you HAVE it all. At least enough.

Virgil : Don't you think of anything else?

Roger : Yeah, but... but why?

  • Virgil : So you goin' to the White Party?

    David : No-ho-hoooo.

    Virgil : It'll be fun!

    David : Nope.

Virgil : I'm goin' to the White Party.

David : [noting the bandage near Virgil's nipple]  Don't you think you should let that heal first?

Virgil : I didn't know he was a biter. There'll be handsome boys...

    David : ...on crystal.

    Virgil : ...dancing...

David : ...to the same eternal relentless beat? If they weren't high, they'd notice the music hasn't changed since 1991.

Virgil : Lot's of lips for kissing.

David : Lot's of diseases for missing.

  • David : [to his nephew on the subject of internet porn]  What's the harm? What's the harm? The harm is that you're supposed to be forming emotional attachments now and dating, not hooking up and substituting sex for relationships.

    Dexter : Everyone hooks up.

David : Yeah? Well, you are not everyone. Someday it's going to make them sad. Someday they're going to be middle-aged and alone and have a trail of broken relationships behind them and staring at getting old alone until, one day, no one wants them anymore, unless it's for their money and hope they drop dead real fast. Is that what you want to happen to you? Is that how you want to end up?
