Exceptional Stuff
Bellatext24 November 2021
"Wow. Just wow."

The writing, its content, range, and effectiveness for taking us through such a stunningly relatable microcosm of human dynamics and relationships, combined with the superb acting (especially Freddie Highmore, his is an especially award-worthy performance, but also, the ensemble is so engaging and believable you forget you are watching fiction; you only realize how deeply you were drawn 'all-in' once the show ends. ) ... "It doesn't get much better than this."

A great series and this is a standout episode.

Intense
dvorsi_kul23 November 2021
This was probably the most heart-wrenching episode so far.

It's striking great balance between romance, drama, medicine and personal demons.

I think it'll just keep getting better, but so far, I haven't been disappointed anyway.

Freddie Highmore seriously did an epic role in this episode. Everyone who watched this episode felt it in their bones. Definitely an award should be given for this role...

Great Episode!
jimmy-5460224 November 2021
I have to be honest, I almost stopped watching this series a year ago, that's how BAD, VERY BAD the writing had gotten. Obviously the writers were changed out and the show is now getting back to the same series I fell in love with 5 years ago. Great episode, great acting, great writing, lots of twists, lots of tension, and a cliff hanger. If the rest of the series continues like this, it will become one of my favorite series of all time. Thanks for getting back to the basics.

What a terrific episode. I can't imagine how stressful it was for the cast to film the surgery scene with the mother and baby as well as the final scene. I think also that Shaun's reaction is a delayed reaction to the loss of his own baby. Just incredible acting.

Today's episode was simply a masterpiece. It had been years since a simple chapter of this great series had thrilled me like this episode. Perfect acting.

Holy c**p! This was an intense and emotional episode. My eyes are still red from my failed attempt at holding back the waterworks. What a fantastic job done by all. Freddie Highmore.... I doth my cap.

The final scene.
ThomasInParis21 February 2022
This show has been on quite the roller-coaster over the years.

Really good at time, absolutely terrible at others.

But man... This final scene here.

I have rarely seen such an amazing performance on screen. Freddie Highmore deserves an award solely based on that scene.

Absolutely breathtaking.

salen has gone too far! (SPOILERS)
darleneharvie27 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I want to say that Rachel Bay Jones is one hell of an actress, to have so many people hating her character! Also, major kudos to the writing team and the other cast members for making the show work so well! Rachel Bay Jones, if you read reviews, just please know that while I don't like the character you play, *YOU* are an amazing actress! Anyway, that being said: (SPOILERS) salen went *WAY* too far this time, to cause a backup in the pharmacy, so that the employees couldn't keep up with inventory, and had EXPIRED medicine in stock!!! This resulted in the death of a premature baby. Shaun had a meltdown, and finally Aaron showed up to help, by operating on Sunil, his ex-wife's husband, and being there for Shaun. I can't wait for the Spring season opener! What a cliffhanger! *SPOILER* Dr. Lim, may you be 100% successful in taking down salen and her evil ethicure empire. But it looks like salen won't go so easily, and her *LIE* about Shaun "killing a baby" was cold and untrue and so unnecessary! Anyway, I guess this is what makes good television viewing, because I always want the "good guys" to win, and the evil to be banished to hell where they belong! Is it Spring yet?

I rarely give a 10
moov_e_c_er26 June 2022
The last scene was beyond amazing. What a build and amazing point to previous episodes, issues, ups and downs. I almost cried. I always love Freddie's work and this character always has a spin and amazing movement. Freddie deserves multiple awards for this episode. The rest did perfect as supporting characters and actors. I rarely give a 10 as there is always something that just doesn't push the story or character through the screen and fully into my mind or heart: but like very few things this was a great moment that got me good. Well done.

pinnacle of medical drama
duncanalexander-4153127 November 2021
This episode has all the elements .. great characters, dialogue, medical cases and story telling. The final crescendo/closing scene was fantastic (and compelled me to write this review). I work as a pharmacist and on some level can see the parallel with what happened (no spoilers!). It was a compelling watch and in my view the best Good Doctor episode (by far). Looking forward to what is in store next!

Wow
tranmf2 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
What an episode... man wow. Wow I cried. I just wanted to say this was a really good episode. I could feel Shaun's pain and anger with people in his life who let him down: Lea lying about his reviews, Glassman leaving, and now the president not providing unexpired medicine. Wow. I hope the healthcare industry learns from this episode to prioritize patients over profit :)

Holy cow
jjjjaviera15 May 2022
This episode was INTENSE. But what left me speechless all over again, was Freddie's interpretation. Holy moly.

Even five years since the beginning of the series, he can surprise.

Deserved an Emmy long time ago. This episode just made me think about this again.

The best so far
gelasma-12 October 2022
Best episode of the season, no question, it's just great writing and great acting by the entire cast.

All the dynamics, all the tensions between characters that had developped and that had built up in previous episodes find here their high point, their their moment of crisis. We feel that some things may be fixed, probably at a cost, but we know that others have reached a point of no-return.

We've seen so many medical dramas that we have to be grateful to the writers to be able to provide us with fresh ideas and situations. The premise of economic rationality vs. Patient care that could seem initially "forced" is here brilliantly utilized.

The Best Episode
horror-7435728 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
All throughout this episode you could feel the tension building with Sean, you could also feel Salen' prioritised her love life over her role in the hospital aswell which did contribute to the ending. Freddie Highmore was absolutely amazing in this episode, I was right there with him, I was so upset, so many people to think about about aswell, how is the patient going feel when she finds out the truth about how the hospital let her down.

Freddie Highmore consistently strong
chrisyen-7430128 February 2022
Best episode in a long time, did they change the writers ? Season 5 way more better than Season 4 tbh, i've given up in the middle of S4 ..... Freddie Highmore consistently strong, the last scene, once again showcase his acting skill. How come this guy still hasn't got an Emmy.

The best episode ever
simotsouli-168-95331524 November 2021
I've watched this series since day one, and I have never been as amazed as I was when watching this episode. It's just perfect. Everyone played their role so remarquably and especially Freddie Highmore. The rich combination between medecine, love and drama is second to none. Really excited to see the consequences of this episode on the rest of the season. Cheers.

S5.E7 - Emotional and Brutal [9/10]
panagiotis19931 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
(S5. E7) My Live Reaction / Review for The Good Doctor Season 5 Episode 7 ''Expired''. The previous episode was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Dr. Glassman is moving to a small town in Montana? Is he about to leave the show or something? That's sad if that's the case. The husband of Dr. Glassman's ex wife is dying, that's sad but Dr. Glassman wants to help which is good. I still cant believe that Dr. Andrews is with Salen, what an awful match. The baby died? That sucks. Shaun did everything he could. Shaun is having a brutal mental breakdown because everyone is lying to him. Overall this episode was good and I enjoyed it. My rating is 9/10.
