When Mickey falls for an internet scam he believes he is doomed to have bad luck and indeed everything seems to be going wrong for him. Whether he is really having bad luck or it is due to his belief that he is jinxed is open to question although it does seem strange that just as Mickey loses his luck Eddie the unfortunate barman suddenly seems to be the luckiest person alive. The rest of the gang think something must be done and think the only way for Mickey to get his luck back is to con the person who conned him. They know the mark likes technology so arrange for him to believe that Albert is a wealthy American looking to acquire the rights to a device that can kill and insect... clearly such a device will be worth a fortune in areas with malaria or where there is a problem with insects eating crops.
I found this to be a really enjoyable episode, it was unusual that we get to see exactly what the gang is doing throughout the con and the only surprise is when we see the device that the mark has been tricked into buying, although he can't really complain as it will do what was claimed of it, just in a more basic way than its buyer had hoped. There was a slight negative at the end; the gang claim only to hurt those who deserve it but Eddie didn't deserve what they did to his business.
