- Jackie tells Kevin she wants to send Fiona to Immaculate with Grace. Kevin makes Jackie promise not to accept money from Dr. O'Hara. Jackie rents a P.O. Box in order to safely receive her secret credit card bill that she's now using to pay for prescriptions.—Anonymous
- At the bar, Jackie listens to Fiona rave about Dr. O'Hara coming in to school to cut off her fake cast, forgetting that her mom was there.
Jackie, tells Kevin she wants to put Fiona in private school, in part because she's irked the teacher thought Fiona had been abused. Kevin agrees in principle, but doesn't want to take O'Hara's money to do it. He makes Jackie promise they won't. She does.
Jackie realizes Grace is hunkered down in the bathroom. She told Fiona she needed "privacy." Jackie gets her anxiety-ridden daughter from the bathroom. She won't say what's wrong. Jackie wants to call the child psychologist and ask, but Kevin reminds her she won't disclose what they talk about.
"How am I supposed to help her if everything's a secret?" Jackie asks.
Speaking of secrets, cut to Jackie getting her very own PO Box. She opens her box and finds a bank statement with just her name on it. The charges are all from pharmacies and there are tons of them. The total is over $600 and she only had $400 in the account. She gets a money order.
At the hospital, Jackie tells O'Hara that Kevin agreed to set up a college fund for the girls, but she wants to make it an "education fund" for private school. O'Hara is thrilled.
Cooper tends to a splotchy patient, complaining about the overall quality of the hospital.
Lenny the paramedic wheels in a man with Jackie. The woman with him admits she hit him, but only after he hit her. they're a well-dressed couple. They start cursing at each other and Jackie shoes the woman away. Jackie calls for help with his spurting head wound and when no one comes Mrs. Akalitis puts on some gloves and helps.
Then she tends to a patient wheeled in by paramedics, all in her business suit. Jackie needs morphine for her head wound guy and Mrs. A goes to get it and find out where everyone is. She finds all the nurses in line for the Pill-o-Matix.
She announces that it's a "piece of s---" and opens every drawer and cabinet and starts to dispense herself.
Jackie asks Head Wound Guy what the fight was about and he says he told her they couldn't afford to go away every weekend, so she threw a jar of cashews at him. He says he only shoved her to get her off him. Cooper thinks no man is ever allowed to hit a woman, even in self-defense, but Jackie disagrees. Cooper storms off in a huff.
Jackie calls Dr. Bowen the child psychologist, wanting to know what Grace talks about in her sessions. She settles for Bowen promising to tell Grace she can share if she wants.
Two college dudes on bikes come in. One is walking gingerly and says he was hit by an SUV and felt his hip crack. Zoey gets him in a wheelchair.
Mrs. A tells Jackie that she's interviewing for a pharmacist and is considering Eddie. Jackie isn't thrilled and reminds her that Eddie kind of lost it when the Pill-o-Matix came. Sam interrupts Mrs. A and asks for time off. She suggests he reconsider.
Zoey glowingly tells Mrs. A that it's been wonderful having her on the floor and get a squint in return.
Cooper has lunch with Eddie and mentions that Mrs. A wants to bring him back, but Jackie's against it. Cooper asks him to go for a guy's night out but he already has plans with Georgia, the girl Cooper set him up with.
At the hospital newsstand, Sam is cheery and tells Jackie it's his six months sober anniversary is today. He wants to skip out for an hour to get his chip, Jackie says OK and that she respects what he's doing.
Jackie visits O'Hara, who asks her how she wants the money for the girl's school. They settle on a check. Jackie confesses all she's had to eat today is coffee, a banana and a Vicodin. She seems to think twice about lying to her best friend and taking her money, but accepts the check.
Zoey treats the cyclist, who is feeling much better on pain meds. O'Hara tells him he has a hairline fracture in his hip and will need 8 to 12 weeks to heal. He thinks he'll have to leave school if he can't get around. Zoey asks for his iPhone.
She takes a picture of him looking sad in bed and suggests he send it to five girls he knows, telling them he was just run off the road and is in the hospital. Then wait.
Jackie thanks Mrs. Akalitis for her help, then tells her Sam has been MIA for over an hour.
Jackie wheels Head Wound Guy out to the lobby with the woman he came in with and reminds him he's leaving against medical advice. A well-dressed woman comes up to him and starts talking about their insurance when she sees the other woman, who is apparently, the other woman.
Jackie finally gets what's going on. In response, the man stands up and vomits blood. They open his shirt and find bruises all over his body, which gets Cooper yelling about how Jackie's pro-domestic violence stance leads to this. She and Zoey are shouting at him to focus on the patient, who isn't doing well, but he's too busy ranting about everybody just beating the crap out of each other. Finally, Zoey shouts at him to pay attention and he responds with his nervous tic of grabbing her boob. Lenny sees and shoves him, Cooper swings at him. Lenny socks him in the nose, breaking it.
Jackie tells Lenny that Cooper has a tic and didn't mean it. Zoey leaves to brag to Thor about Lenny defending her. Cooper finally treats the patient.
Zoey sees the bicyclist leaving, wheeled out by three girls who have volunteered to help him get around until he heals. After they leave she decides that's not going to end well.
Eddie's date is interrupted by Georgia getting a text from Cooper says he's hurt in the ER. We pan back and see their date was in Kevin's bar. They leave.
Mrs. A tells Sam his leaving was insubordination, even if Jackie said it was Ok. He's on probation. Thor comes by her office to tell her it was fun to have her on the floor.
Jackie reports to Head Wound Guy's wife and mistress that he had some internal bleeding but will be Ok. She struggles over who gets to visit him and ends up flummoxed, saying she knows nothing about this sort of thing.
Then she walks down the hall and into Eddie with his date. Georgia goes to see Cooper. Jackie asks Eddie why he'd want to come back. She tells him to go be with his girlfriend. But he says Georgia isn't and she knows who is.
At Lenny's apartment, he holds an ice pack over his eye and tells Zoey she doesn't have to say. She says it's the least she can do for him after he defended her honor. She makes herself at home on his couch, putting her legs in his lap.
At home, Jackie pounds on Grace's door, trying to get in. Kevin busts open the door. Grace yells that it's none of her business and Jackie sees the pile of hair in the sink. She finds the bald spot on her daughter's head and holds her tight. She tells her "We cannot have secrets in this house."
