Sex & Nudity

  • Outside in the snow, a teenager girl and a teenage boy try to kiss, but they get interrupted.
  • It is implied that a man and a married woman had sex, but nothing is shown.

Violence & Gore

  • Contains brief medical gore
  • A young man stumbles into traffic, semi-conscious and delirious from flu symptoms, and is struck broadside by a fast moving bus in the street. The impact is sudden/shocking, somewhat unexpected and, were it real, would assuredly be fatal.
  • During an autopsy, a dead woman's face is shown as we hear the whirring of a surgical saw and then see the woman's bloody scalp flop onto her face; two men examine the brain and brain stem (we do not see anything) and one appears alarmed by what he sees.
  • A man rushes into his young stepson's room and finds the boy dead (we see the boy lying on his side with his eyes wide open and dried goo on his mouth and cheek).
  • We see a woman lying dead on the bathroom floor (her feet and lower legs are tinged blue/black, her face is pale and there is a foamy discharge in and around her mouth).
  • A woman is found dead on a bus (we see her eyes wide open and her mouth and chin stained with dried goo).
  • We see a dead woman wrapped in a plastic bag with duct tape wrapped around her neck. We see many dead people being piled into an open pit.
  • We hear gunshots, see flashes of light inside a house and see two men carrying guns leaving the house (no one is shown injured or dead).
  • A woman drops her coffee cup on the floor breaking it, she then collapses on the floor, and begins seizing (she twitches and thrashes) and foaming from the mouth while her young son watches in terror.
  • Two masked people break into a house and threaten a woman (she is unharmed).

Profanity

  • 'F*ck' is said twice.
  • 'Sh*t' is said about four times.
  • 'God' is said twice.
  • 3 occurences of "Jesus."

  • A woman drinks several alcoholic beverages while playing at a casino.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A few emotionally intense moments, including crying and grief.
  • A woman is abducted.
  • The many deaths throughout the film, on and off screen, may be difficult for some viewers.
  • Many intense scenes of people slowly starting to panic over the virus, starting with panic buying and eventually escalating to violent riots where innocent people are accosted or even potentially killed.
  • A dead child is shown in gruesome detail. Aside from some vomit around his mouth and cracked lips, there is no blood or gore, but the sight of a dead child it very intense and purposefully uncomfortable.
  • Contains sustained physical and psychological threat
  • There are scenes of mass graves of the infected, one person mentions how they have run out of body bags, because of so many dead.
  • Autopsy scene can be disturbing to watch.
