Serena van der Woodsen : All right, I'm heading to my Mom's for breakfast.
Nate Archibald : Hey, hey, hey. You've been coming in late and leaving early all week. I'm starting to feel cheap.
[kisses her]
Serena van der Woodsen : Ooh, I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. It's just, with everything going so well with my Dad...
Nate Archibald : Hey, Serena... no worries, okay?
[they hug]
Nate Archibald : Look, I love being your crash pad, but... you know, maybe if you moved in with your Mom while she's getting her treatment?
Serena van der Woodsen : And have to see Jenny's lying face first thing in the morning? No, thank you.
[a shapely girl comes waltzing in, slipping off her high-heeled shoes]
Serena van der Woodsen : This is not the same girl Chuck came home with last night.

Serena van der Woodsen : Well, at least he's been honored. I've never been honored. I did win a contest once at boarding school, and I think there was a plaque, but... I'm not sure that really counts.
Jenny Humphrey : What kind of contest?
Serena van der Woodsen : [to shut her up:] It was for drinking hot chocolate at the winter fair.
William van der Woodsen : I had a buddy that went to Exeter. The stories he tells would make Keith Richards blush.
Serena van der Woodsen : [looks down] Yeah, well, uhm, I wasn't really into the party scene. I was there more for the academics.
[causing Jenny to look up sharply]
William van der Woodsen : Sounds like you've made some great choices, Serena. I'm glad. The bad ones have a way of... following you.
[Serena looks down guiltily]
Jenny Humphrey : [to Serena] You know, I've never heard that hot chocolate story.
[shakes her head]
Serena van der Woodsen : [snaps] You know, there are a lot of stories going around.
Jenny Humphrey : True, but I did hear this one. My ex-boyfriend went to boarding school with Serena and he tells a great one...
[Serena looks uncomfortable]
Jenny Humphrey : about her and his teacher one night at a, uh, bed and breakfast.
Serena van der Woodsen : Jenny!
Jenny Humphrey : Although I'm sure they were just studying. You know, like she says, she was all about the academics.
