As part of the storyline in which Lilly is being considered to join the Federal Cold Case Unit, this case has no connection to Philadelphia, a first in the series. It takes place in New York.

Ryan Cavanaugh says that three people died, one OD'd, one was crushed by a tractor, and one was a GI shot. In reality, three people did die, but two OD'd and one was crushed by a tractor. They omitted the second OD. The facts of this case are completely made up for the shows purposes.
