Started watching after some positive words from top reviewers but still I had zero expectation. It was a complete surprise from bollywood. It is not that we have not seen such movie but yes it had everything that keeps you hooked till the climax of the film. After first half film takes different turn. Those twists were very interesting and unpredictable but yes at some points you could predict. Vickey Kaushal done super job and pulled his best again. Rest actors played their characters very well. I would say jokes and humour could be added more. A perfect watch for those who love comdey, suspense and plot twist movie.

Vicky Kaushal's performance is brilliant. He is all over and his family the Waghmare.

While Watching it'll remind you many movies but you'll lose.

First movie makes you into the zone of the storyline and than its turn to the twist and turns.

All characters are well placed and performed.

The way of Storyline is Good that hooked you till the end.

Songs are negligible, I liked one.

Brilliantly written you'll not get the clue what's going on.

You will really enjoy that movie at least better than movies these days! Vicky Kaushal proved that he is a versatile actor and comic timing is as good as his serious performances. You gonna love Mrs Malhotra's(;)) performance as well.

Pace of the movie was also good. You gonna stick to the screen whole time.

I believe they could also release that movie in theatres but anyhow they released it on OTT so enjoy it in your leisure.

If you watch Bijli song you gonna think its Shahid Kapoor who choreographed that song. Only actor who can do Govinda's role as good as Vicky is Shahid Kapoor.

Enjoy this movie and ignore negative comments.

This is a good time pass movie! If you are tired and simply want to enjoy/relax, then, Govinda naam Mera is for you.

Casting: All the actors so a decent job including Kiara (which is surprising). Bhoomi got very little screentime.. they could have utilized her more.

Comedy: It's an absurd comedy like old priyadarshan movies. Put logic aside and simply have fun.

Plot: Quite decent. The shocking reveal in the end was somewhat predictable but still keeps you hooked.

Music: I didn't like it much. But thik hai!

Overall do give it a try :) it's a good OTT movie. Happy that they didn't release it in theatres.

The Movie overall was great, it was something new and fresh; that's what it felt like to me, the beginning was little slow but as the movie went on, it picked up the pace really good, kept me hooked to the movie till the end. Great work. The acting of vicky kaushal and Kiara Advani was something refreshing to see, since it's been a long time since we have seen a new pair on screen, apart of them, bhumi did a great job as well; she gave us continoius laughter through out the movie. I wish that the starting could have been a little better but apart from that, movie kept us interested, so i would recommend it to watch it with family, since this is best one time watch film!.

Plot of the Movie

Vicky playing the titular role is going through various issues of abusive wife, step brother torture, career issue. Then a murder happens and that turns Govinda's life.

Analysis...

1) Vicky Kaushal from his serious portray roles in Uri , Raazi , here we could see a guy in a fun mode. The local mumbai dialect delivery was quite interesting

2) Kiara Advani had given a notable performance.

3) Bhumi' s performance doesn't offer anything new. Moreover, her screen presence was also less.

4) When movie reaches to its last 30 minutes, predictability triggers & then just wanted to watch to get the answer of "HOW"??

5) Govinda Naam Mera offers laughter from Renuka Shahane ( govinda's mother) , Amey Wagh ( govinda's friend).

Decision to release on a streaming platform was good.

Govinda naam Mera is interesting to watch movie. Second half is more interesting with twist and turn as well as first half also supported second half.

It's like when common man face many problems then he can decide anything for come out and think out of the box. I don't want to give any spoilers here because of that no story revealed.

All characters doing well and story move ahead help of decent script.

This movie break Vickey kaushal's serious image in Bollywood, and proved that he is ready to any kind of roles.

Renuka Shahane is awesome with humours role, good to see her.

Music is average, story and screenplay is up to the mark. Direction is also good.

All over this is definitely one time watch movie.

Govinda naam mera is a surprise package. Watched it with least expectation but it went on to become a great entertainer. Had fun watching a movie after so long. Shashank Khaitan's crisp & tight screenplay was tremendously engaging, though his cameo wasn't. The story is a winner with all its twists and turns. But the biggest takeaway from the movie was Vicky Kaushal, such an effortless actor with an incredible comic timing, the guy is a sheer entertainer. He should definitely try this genre more. Thank God Varun Dhawan was not selected for this role. Special mentions Amey Wagh, Bhumi Pednekar, Daya & Tripti. Kiara Advani's dialogue delivery was a bit eerie. Rest it's a Great watch altogether!

The film's first half is so boring with all lead actors acting like this is their first film. Very badly done. The songs kept making me fast forward the film (on Hotstar). The songs, the music were too boring and weren't helping in the story. The first half of the film was going on to be a comedy. The 2nd half of the film was better than the trailer too. Kiara was probably the best in the 2nd half. Vicky was completely out of place in his character. His look looked fake throughout the film.

The film's twists at the last half an hour makes the entire film bearable. The story felt more of a short story that went Bollywood and when you have karan johar as the producer....all I have to say is Govindaaaa...Goooooovinda!

I recently watched this movie that I found to be extremely disappointing due to its poorly thought out plot. The story was completely nonsensical and seemed to have no direction or purpose. It was clear that the filmmakers had not put much thought into the development of the plot, and it showed in the final product.

The characters were one-dimensional and their actions did not make any sense in the context of the story. The dialogue was clunky and often times felt forced and unnatural.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed in this movie. The plot was truly terrible and not well thought out, and it made for a very unenjoyable viewing experience. I would not recommend this movie to anyone.

Honestly, I started watching the movie just for Viraj Ghelani. This movie is a complete Bollywood masala with full on entertainment. It is a great mixture of comedy, thriller, suspense and superb acting by all the cast. The climax is so unpredictable which makes this movie even more enjoyable. The twist and turns will blow the mind. All the cast is awesome and have played their characters amazingly well, especially Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Amey Vagh, Trupti Khamkar and of course, Viraj Ghelani. Music, screenplay, dialogue delivery is brilliant. So happy to see Viraj in the movie. Tame tejasvi cho, vadhu avavana che.

According to the trailer it should be more fun in the first half and more mystery in second half... but it was bit serious in first half and satisfied mystery in second half...

If they added more fun in first half it would be a rollercoaster ride. The second half saves the film but the logical loopholes are clearly visible while watching...

If you are fine to adjust to these logical loopholes, this will be a good weekend time pass. There is not dull moments and the casting was good. The last 30 minutes are racy one with all justification for the first half sotry.

You guys can thank me later for saving your time and preventing the Headache (Cringe part) .....

Agr rat me nind na aaye or single hai then try to watch entire movie but will end up sleeping.

Acting of vicky is really awesome👍😊👏 but can't beat his mother acting in movie.. Kaam wali baat bhi tabad thi..

Conclusion:- mera time waste huva. Movie dekh kr... Isse accha so jata ya reels dekhta.

Iss movie ko dekh kr motivation mila ki nokri hona kitna important h, Btech kr rha to already muskil h, but jo haal huva ladke vicky ka unemployment ke karan vo dekhaya h.

The movie didn't start well. But, it became edgy when that murder happened. As after that there are so many twists. Those are not very big twists or something like that because we all have seen those types of things in many movies, but only for those twists and turns you'll be hooked. Some comedy moments didn't work at all but most of them work.

Some actors I loved here like Sayaji Shinde, Trupti Khamkar, Dayanand Shetty, Kiara and also loved the cameos. You may predict many things or even the climax but this genre works, I liked it. The film is entertaining and that's what it should be, at least it will not make you bore. It's a good time pass fun movie.

Twists upon twists upon twists; this is one such template a big chunk of authors in recent times have been clinging to. Make no mistake, they still make way for fascinating viewings, it's just that the screenwriting of these kinds often gets confused, and convoluted in the middle, thus resulting in a byproduct that may overwhelm.

The first half starts fine, it got me laughing on several occasions, and the comedy did seem to function (as it should) in almost all instances. Then comes the second half and the tonality shifts to a rather unhumorous expression. The Screenplay took a drastic turn and brought on all the thrills it had in its offering.

Now I'm not saying those didn't work, they did, but at times the writing got incohesive, a little bit messy so to speak. Regardless, the final few minutes were satisfying, specifically when the closing revelation came on. Although seasoned viewers who are accustomed to the genre may as well foresee the development long before it comes into being.

Govinda Naam Mera or GNM was supposed to be a comedy thriller . What worked partially was the suspense thrill part but failed miserably in the comedy part.

Govinda or rather Govind A Waghmare (he confused this for Govinda) has his life screwed up from all 8 directions and as things worsen in his life, one night changes his life ...for the worst. Will Govinda manage to get out of this mess and who killed his wife ?

The 1st half tbh is very average and takes long to build up. Would have been entertaining had the comedy worked well but what we get to see is forced shouting and screaming in Marathi . Here, Govinda's mother (Renuka Shahane) on wheelchair does a rather commendable job . It was only she who brought out the maximum gags which include that hilarious courtroom scene where a lawyer claims she was a dancer and the mother interrupts and speaks in a half paralysed way "Excuse me... assistant choreographer 😂" .

The 2nd half is where the things get a bit spices up and it was here that i finally got a bit invested in the film. A lot of twists and turns come in which ultimately lead to the exciting climax reveal. Tbh , most of these twists were ordinary and we're not introduced smoothly. Suddenly someone is deceiving someone as is revealed through twists. Comedy still does not work except for a few scenes of govinda 's mother and the maid servant.

The final climax...giving a small hinted spoiler..is similar..if not exactly same...as that of Double Dhamaal. Hence, you feel you haven't seen anything exciting even in the climax.

Performance wise, Vicky in a rather comedic role can act well but needs better dialogues. Bhumi is decent and the hot Kiara is good too. Renuka Shahane is the star of this film . She's the only one that made the film barely comedic. Even the maid was comical. A rare film where women made me laugh.

A cameo is there, and it's pretty exciting one how he faces Vicky when vicky says instead of this cameo actor, he likes Ranveer Singh.

Overall, a pretty average film with few interesting moments here and there and some comedy by Renuka save the film... somewhat. Strictly one time watch or even a skip.

This movie is nothing a bad comedy movie this movie is not a full comedy entertainer the first half was good but the second half was not up to the mark I literally enjoy the movie in second half I did not find it funny anymore and the c***** is so bad. Acting of Kaushal is fine and kaira seems very beautiful on screen Vicky Kaushal Advani this pair I love to see on the screen after lust stories the both were so funny and beautiful together I don't know why people are so sitting this movie does not worth. The film title Govinda Naam Mera does not justify with the full movie you can watch this movie by just forwarding.

When creators of this content gradually killed the buzz of this movie, left alone in the abyss of disdain for gaining nothing. When reviews were bombing like the frequent claps of joyful child.

I just sat in this same scale of perishing cold night today, just to earn my precious yawn for my sleep and stop watching in between somewhere and put myself in the much needed relief. And hopefully forget about the bitter memory of this very junk like a regular drunk. As this was the case for the major releases of Bollywood in OTT platform for quite sometime.

But Alas!.. I was gradually engaging, gags of laughs coming out of no where. I can predict the story but I want to watch how it unfolds through the great performance of every performer. The screen tightly gripped me as I was ready to forfeit.

Renuka Shahane..What a performance yaar. I watched Kiara no better work than this. Vicky was as good as always.

This movie was no where near a perfect comedy, nor thriller, nor action. But it was a perfect Bollywood movie that I grown up on.

Or maybe I lost hope and found a fake crystal thinking its a diamond.. But thanks for the trick, it worked on me out of no where.

Bollywood cannot do comedies its a shame Directors think saying dialogues with weird faces is comedy. 3 idiots was the last amazing comedy film we got. Its been 13 years Bollywood has not produced that kind of comedy. Vicky kaushal gave his best in this mediocre movie you can see his sincerety but the film had nothing for him. Bad songs truly bad songs just because its bollywood they have to put songs. The film took 1 hr to set the premise what a waste of time who wrote the script and who approved it ?. A thriller comedy with no thrill and not a single funny scene. The climax felt like a 90's jasoos movie. Vicky must choose projects carefully.

Such bad performances .... Doesn't connect ... Neither dark nither light neither comedy not drama .. just flat ... I guess no one wrote script ... They just orally did it all.... Feels like actors just came did scene with what they felt like ... Just makers were taking theatres for granted ... Now they are taking ott for granted becoz no matter what people are going to watch it... Lazy people it seems .... Youtubers with very low budget makes better content .... Editing is almost century old ... Using surprise element ( which they are not at all surprising) by showing flash backs as if we can't understand simple twist... Story even is nothing to think of making a movie on .... Horrible horrible ....

Mix of situational comedy and murder mystery.every one has done a great job,but kiara advani steals the show. She is so good in the movie.

There are very few movies which actually wants your attention and be on the edge of your seat in the second half which is quite interesting.

Also rest of the cast had done a good job.

You can easily find loopholes in the story but they are few. Direction is also good,screenplay is also seemless but editing could be much better.

Kiara advani should do more roles like this where she can add to her character. There are nice cameos in the movie that i liked.

Though the 1st half was quite boring but the second half was bomb!! New twists and turns will kick your door every single minute, you won't even could distinguish who is right and who is wrong and the movie goes to a good flow 1st half goes on for movie building and the second half carries the major story. Kiara and vicky are killing their performances and bhumi is also good but something is lagging behind on her acting.

The storyline is not so special but the fun it provides is!

At last I just recommend it as a time pass movie and not more htan that but that time pass would really be entertaining I can guarentee that.

Govinda Naam Mera is a decent entertaining watch. Writer-director Shashank Khaitan delivers a 90s-style comedy thriller film with a proper dose of humour and mystery. He always delivers what the audience expects from him. But this time he chose to use the clichéd formula instead of writing something fresh and new.

The first half of the film does not offer much to the viewers. But the second half is more engaging due to the twists & turns. Shashank Khaitan's dialogues are witty but there was a lot of scope for more humour. The screenplay, editing, and music were just fine. Bijli was a nice track with some electrifying dance moves by Ganesh Acharya but other songs are passable.

Vicky Kaushal handled his role very well and gave a good performance. Kiara Advani looks stunning and manages to give a decent performance. Bhumi Pednekar and Renuka Shahane are fun to watch, if there was more screen time given to them, it would have aided their performance. Amey Wagh, Viraj Ghelani, Trupti Khakmkar, Dayanand Shetty, and Sayaji Shinde were excellent in the supporting roles.

When i saw the trailer first i was least interested because it felt as if its another boring murder mystery. Even it was quite a lot boring to begin with but as the twists started coming it was a much easier affair. It wont be fair to compare but the movie is on the lines of dj tillu( though dj tillu was way more funnier). Had the start 20-25 minutes been wrote properly this movie would have been up with the greats. Even the comedy fell flat at few places.

Positives 1. Twists 2. Unpredictability 3. Crisp runtime Negatives 1. Flat comedy 2. Writing of initial 30 minutes or so 3. Vicky kaushals performance was not upto the mark 4. No notable song except for bijli 5. Resemblance to dj tillu Verdict- a one time watch for the twists. Had the comedy been upto the mark it was a sure shot winner.

Acting of Kiara is improving day by day . Shahaji shinde was fine touch but they have given less screentime to him I don't know why ??
