Educational, but only for the dumbed-down masses.

First of all I'd like to add that I registered on IMDb only because of this disaster of a documentary. I've been interested in sci-fi and science since I was little and have come a long way in regards to understanding the difference between fact and fiction. That aside, this movie made me want to pull my hair out at times. Why? Well, a number of factors: 1) Those damn boards on which one of the cosmologists wrote on. They are appearing all the time, have some random equation being written on them, which is never explained. 2) The inflating balloon and the 'fireworks'. Describing the moment of Big Bang with oxidizing of a terrestrial material? Is that all that BBC is capable of, seriously? 3) The guys were talking straightforwardly and in laymen's terms - why was a narrator necessary? And why did ALL of the scientists get cut off in the middle of their words? 4) The documentary was manipulated in such a way that it insulted my intelligence. Don't get me wrong, I'm a reasonably intelligent guy and certainly no scientist (yet, anyway), but frames were repeating again and again, sometimes even whole clips of information that was told before.

Well, there were more things that bothered me with the picture but if you're going to watch it - you'll find out yourself. Either way, if you know at least something about astronomy and elementary physics - this want-to-be-teacher-movie will waste your time. Go read Cosmos by Carl Sagan instead.
