Storyline

Detective Murdoch investigates the murder of Alexander Taylor who is found in his living room on his birthday obviously having been attacked with a ax. The case seems open and shut however when they find the man's daughter Charlotte sitting on her bed with the murder weapon in her hands. Charlotte admits that she must have killed her father but has no memory of it. She also says she often has no memory when she is possessed by the devil. During an interrogation however another character, Maddie, emerges leading Murdoch to conclude that there are two personalities in the same body. He consults Dr. Roberts, who has helped him in the past, who recommends they try hypnosis. What they find is that she has more than two personalities. But which one committed, or perhaps witnessed, the crime? Written by garykmcd

This story is about a man that gets killed on his birthday. His family lights birthday candles on a cake and brings the cake to his room. The man is dead on the couch with injuries that look like an axe.

The police come and his daughter Charlotte is in her room with an axe in her hand sitting on her bed in a trance like state. The police bring her in to question her. During the process they find out she has multiple personalities. She becomes a suspect because one of her personalities is very violent.

Murdoch brings in a doctor to see the girl and talk with her. The only time she gets violent is when she feels threatened and that is when "Mati" her protector comes out. The doctor uses hypnosis to bring her back in time but they don't get enough answers. The woman that is supposed to be her mother hates her. It comes out later that Charlotte suffered trauma, her father was a cruel drunk that used to lock her in the cellar.

I have to say the girl that plays Charlotte was homely but a good actress playing 3 personalities. Charlotte thinks she is possessed because of the personalities. (I would say I agree with that.} Police do a lot of investigating about the families past and about a older brother she might have had.

It is very interesting how they solve this case. I don't believe in hypnosis. We have a free will and if we let someone tamper with it or make suggestions bad things can happen.

In the end good investigating solves the crime.
