Pretty good first episode, definitely it'll have you on the edge of your seat.

Jo and Jason are on holiday with friends, they're struggling with their rocky marriage, but their problems are as nothing when gunmen open fire on the people on the resort.

I'll be honest, I'm struggling to relate to most of the negative reviews I've read about this show, I thought this first episode was heart in mouth, edge of the seat viewing.

I liked the way that every day problems were shown, but felt like empty nothingness once the real drama started.

It's an action packed, tense, harrowing first episode, what I thought was most shocking, is that such events could actually happen, and some years ago in Tunisia, sadly did.

Some actions were questionable, a few times I looked in surprise by actions, but in a situation like that, who knows how anyone would act.

I thought the acting was terrific and realistic, Keeley Hawes and Lee Ingleby stood out, they made a great duo.

Ignore the dire reviews, it was a dramatic, exciting start, 8/10.

The first episode of Crossfire has Jo (Keeley Hawes) reminiscing about the fragility of life as her family holiday and flirting with another man is interrupted by gunfire.

The hotel in the Canary Islands is under siege from terrorists as the hotel guests run for their lives.

Jo is an ex cop who is about to turn into Bruce Willis in Die Hard.

The tense situation in the hotel grounds is interrupted with the soapy drama. Jo has an unhappy marriage with her husband Jason (Lee Ingleby.) She has had an affair in the past and is having an affair with his friend Chinar. He is also on the same trip.

The biggest flaw in the opener is that no one called the police. A glaring issue given that so many guests had mobile phones.

Still it was tense, here was action and pity that father who managed to lose the kids to help out a dithering old woman.
