Quality soap operatics, lesbian division
Marda Kaleeko, one of the few auteurs to get a screen credit out of over 700 Girlfriends Films releases, came up with an interesting structure for the 6th volume in this character-driving series. After over 3 hours of humping, the actual story action takes place just in the last 5-minute coda.
Marda's main themes of family dysfunction and the horrors of "re-education" applied to Gay people, in this case of fictional Thornhill, California, conducted by Church leaders, are well-observed here with a fine cast carrying over from DVD to DVD.
Library music is effective, notably one of the label's favorites "Jeux Interdits" by Narciso Yepes to open the show on guitar (from the classic Rene Clement film by that name) as we get five lengthy vignettes of lesbians in action, a grieving male not visible on-screen until a funeral at the end.
Two all-time lovelies Faye Reagan and Sam Ryan team up for the initial sex scene, followed by a more mainstream performer, Madelyn Marie, doing the honors with superstar Bobbi Starr, after they discuss much of the gossip regarding main characters like Magdalene St. Michaels.
Maggie shows up in the final XXX segment, humping Bobbi after latter has a heart-to-heart talk with her concerning mistreatment of a missing player, "Daisy" (Daisy Layne -see earlier episodes).
Surprise ending bids adieu to one of the major characters and is emotionally satisfying after so much reliance on sex, sex and more sex.
