After the Cavett debacle and Joyce and Doug parting ways having fulfilled the initial terms of their business relationship, Joyce remains in New York City at Maggie's to regroup for however long it takes. She gets a taste of New York life in seeing Maggie's somewhat dream job. Joyce also gets another perspective of what New York may have to offer her now when Maggie and Brandt invite some friends for a dinner party. Not wanting to slow the train down, Doug makes some decisions not only about the third edition of the magazine, but the life of Minx without Joyce. Some of his decisions don't sit well with some of the staff. Meanwhile, Shelly and Bambi are at a crossroads in their respective lives, each who tries to help the other while helping herself.
