She's Back!

An excellent episode, despite the awful Raydor. The good thing about this appearance is that Brenda gets off some cracking good retorts. However, Raydor's behavior is highly questionable. A professional who has attained her rank and authority would hardly engage in such petty, personal sniping. Otherwise, very good, dramatic end, and while the crime is not much of a mystery, it doesn't matter. This is the Kyra show, and she never fails to deliver.

Please--get rid of Sharon Raydor!

Cannot stand her twitching her face-drives me nuts! Retire lady! Love Brenda so much; her looks, personality, how she connects with everyone. She is perfect in her role👍🏻 It was a sad day when she left & Raydor took over. Major Crimes just can't compare to The Closer!

Warning: Spoilers
I've heard that Kyra Sedgwick won her Emmy when submitting "Maternal Instincts" for consideration. I think this episode could have given her another Emmy...I think she would have deserved it. It's a great episode because we are able to see the fun dynamics between Brenda and cap. Raydor (like Brenda eating her candy when the captain enters her office). It's good because it seems like it hasn't changed but we end up discovering that it has indeed, which makes sense since the way things ended last time they ran into each other. The best thing about the episode is that we end up wanting to see more: we see Kyra's acting skills when discovering she has given so much information to the suspect and decides to go protecting the victim. I really wanted to see more of the aftermath: the other women in the van and especially the talk between her and Fritz because it's comprehensible the way he scolded her, why wouldn't he? She was in danger but she never acted jack-bauer-like fearless and irresponsibly. It's in the top 5 for me.

Powerful and Moving

I watch crime shows all the time, I read true crime stories, news and watch documentaries. But this episode is so real as to what goes on in real life that I broke down watching the overwhelmingly moving ending. Fantastic acting, one of Kyra's best performances.
