Alex Guarnaschelli, the acclaimed chef best known for her near-constant presence on the Food Network, has been ousted from her position as co-host on The Kitchen. While the seemingly sudden decision shook fans, they don’t need to get too worried. It looks like they’ll be seeing Guarnaschelli cook up plenty more dishes on the Food Network.
Why was Alex Guarnaschelli fired from ‘The Kitchen’?
In February 2024, Food Network fans quickly noticed that Alex Guarnaschelli was suspiciously absent from The Kitchen and its website. It didn’t take long for rumors to begin swirling that she had been axed from the show. While neither the network nor Guarnaschelli has commented on the ousting, it’s pretty obvious that she won’t be returning.

Eddie Jackson is helming a new series for Food Network — “Outchef’d” — and the competition, between skilled home cooks, will be not only fierce, but surprising. In fact, the new show, which TheWrap has exclusive details about, will surprise home cooks who turn up for an audition only to end up in head-to-head competition against a world-renowned chef.
The competition brings the heat (thanks to the pressure of the surprise) and starts off with with a star-ingredient themed cooking round.
Jackson will then take to the streets to find a panel of six individuals to blindly taste the dishes. To even the playing field, the home chef has to receive only one vote to win a 5,000 prize.

Chef Alex Guarnaschelli is a titan of cooking competition shows. A “Chopped” and “Guy’s Grocery Games” regular and the host of “Supermarket Stakeout,” Guarnaschelli has also beat Bobby Flay and conquered the Kitchen Stadium to become an Iron Chef. And now that she’s put her name on her own cooking competition show, you better believe every episode is a knock-down-drag-out. In fact, a Season 2 episode quite literally got bloody when the chef suffered a scary kitchen injury — and in true Guarnaschelli fashion, refused to give up anyway.
With “Alex vs. America,” Guarnaschelli welcomes talented chefs from around the nation who try to beat the Food Network star at her own game. Hosted by Eric Adjepong, every episode finds Guarnachelli battling three chefs, each an expert in a new episodic theme, which ranges from “Chocolate” to “Spicy” to “Brunch.” And anyone can go home in any round – including Guarnaschelli.
