Werner Herzog!
CharWoman18 July 2012
This is a typically good Simpsons episode--I don't know how they've kept it going so well for so long--but I was especially amused by hearing the highly identifiable voice of Werner Herzog as Dr. Hottenhoffer not long after seeing (and hearing him narrate) his documentary Cave of Forgotten Dreams. A treat for those familiar with the man. (you know he once ate a shoe, right?)

Lisa accidentally discovers that a Springfield native flower has mood- altering properties, but the applications soon wander beyond the scope of her school science project. The episode touches slyly on the pharmaceutical industry, antidepressants, and ethics while remaining funny. Enjoyable as always.

They should've used that special desert flower better

Warning: Spoilers
There should've been more conflict.

The child safety lid in the pharmaceutical company building was kind of funny.

Instead of getting the drug out of grandpa's sweat glands they should've gotten it from Lisa and she should've been avoiding the pharmaceutical company.

Lisa deserved more credit.

They should've found a tolerable dose that wouldn't cause the eye popping out side effect.

8/10 until that ending

Warning: Spoilers
The episode is an 8/10 without the ending, but the ending loses a point. Grampa makes a speech about needing to be cranky. Suddenly, the dose somehow makes no effect. It also takes 17 minutes to show us those eyes. Sure, they're disturbing, but that's no excuse to finally set up the plot when there are only 5 minutes left.

Otherwise a great episode but that ending...7/10.

Warning: Spoilers
The Scorpions Tale is a terrific Simpsons episode with a lot of wity quotes and gags.

After a school tour,Lisa discovers a flower that makes usually angry animals much more calm. When Grandpa gets kicked out of the retirement home he moves in with the Simpsons, but they eventually get tired of his complaining so Homer uses the flower on him and it makes him much more happy.

Eventually Lisa throughs the flower away because it upsets her that Grandpa is using it.A German doctor gets the idea from Homer to make a medicine for it,but only Grandpa can use it for the time being because it hasn't been tested. But Bart sells it to all the elderly people of Springfield but it turns out that their are side-effects,that your eye balls pop out.
