- TriviaWhen Sheldon calls Howard in the car with the words "Red Leader to Red Five" he is imitating one of the X-Wing pilots in the film Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). Red Five was Luke Skywalker's X-Wing call-sign in the movie.
- GoofsSheldon's route shows the group taking Interstate Highway 5 north, but since they are traveling to Big Sur, a far more efficient route would be up the Pacific Coast Highway (California State Route 1). Sheldon should have known this.
- Quotes
Penny: You know, for a smart guy, you really seem to have a hard time grasping the concept: "Don't piss off the people who handle the things you eat."
Amy Farrah Fowler: That does seem to be a valid principle.
Sheldon Cooper: I trust Penny will adhere to the official California Restaurant Workers' Solemn Oath of Ethics and Cleanliness.
Amy Farrah Fowler: I don't believe there's any such thing.
Sheldon Cooper: [Incredulous, to Leonard] You lied to me?

I have a recurring dream that I've been drafted to play on an NBA team. This is a very upsetting dream because I can't really play basketball. I mean, I play pretty much how you'd expect a middle-aged Jewish comedy writer to play. The words clumsy, hesitant, clueless, short and frightened come to mind. During the dream I'm well aware of my grotesque lack of talent. I run up and down the court hoping the ball doesn't come my way, all the while wondering why the coach doesn't take me out. Even me executing an uncontested lay-up or free throw seems like an impossible, or at least unlikely, event. Assuming dreams work as metaphor and I'm not really subconsciously afraid of having to go mano a mano with Kobe or LeBron, the question I find myself asking is, what in my life do I feel fully engaged in and yet completely unqualified for? The answer is simple: intimate relationships. Once again, the words clumsy, hesitant, clueless, short and frightened come to mind. Well, not short... average.

"The Love Car Displacement" is another excellent ep of "The Big Bang Theory"
In this last season ep of "The Big Bang Theory": Penny is invited to go the a conference meeting with the gang. She feigns being busy for the weekend until it's mentioned it's at a spa. She ends in a car with Sheldon, Leonard, and Amy while the other one has Howard, Raj, and Bernadette. When they all arrive at the destination, Bern meets her former professor Glenn (Rick Fox) who she mentions to Howard she also dated. Uh oh, Howard is now having thoughts about inadequacy considering Glenn's size (both height and...well, you know). I'll stop there and just say that after watching the previous underwhelming ep with no Amy or Bernadette or other guest stars, this one's very much an improvement in laughs! I mean, all the Freudian terminology just adds to the hilarity especially when the conference convenes. So on that note, "The Love Car Displacement" gets a high recommendation from me. P.S. A few eps back, I mentioned that guest star Eliza Dushku was in the audience of "Dancing with the Stars" in support of a friend named Rick as a contestant. The one I referred to is the one mentioned playing Glenn and he was, probably still is, dating our fair Eliza. So when Howard gets jealous because this Glenn once was involved with his Bern, I don't blame him.
