One of the films we cannot wait to see is Yash Chopra’s next directorial venture starring the king of romance, Shah Rukh Khan, along with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film, which started shooting in London on the 22nd of Feburary 2012 already has a huge buzz going and we still have many months to wait until it releases in the cinema.
This untitled movie will mark the coming together yet again of the award winning duo of the music maestro A. R. Rahman and the poet & lyricist, Gulzar so of course, we can’t wait to hear the songs either!
The film is scheduled for a Diwali 2012 release, the festive time when Yash Chopra movies over the years have lit up homes worldwide. We imagine it will light up the box office as well and all we can say is, “Is it Diwali yet? We want to see this film now!

Hands up who predicted this one? With only a few months until release, Joss Whedon's upcoming Marvel ensemble blockbuster The Avengers (2012) has been renamed in the UK as Marvel Avengers Assemble. We can only assume the title change is to avoid confusion with the cult 1960s series of the same name (rather than the awful 1998 Ralph Fiennes/Uma Thurman big screen adaptation), though how many audience members would have turned up expecting to see John Steed and Emma Peel doing their thing is anyone's guess.

Flo Rida has extended his lead on the Aria singles chart with 'Wild Ones'. The track - which features singer-songwriter Sia - leads the tally for a sixth week, fending off competition from Gym Class Heroes and Neon Hitch's 'Ass Back Home' at two, while 360's 'Boys Like You' completes the top three. Meanwhile, Qwote and Pitbull leap 11 to four with 'Throw Your Hands Up', Katy Perry vaults 22 to five with 'Part of Me', and Chris Brown's 'Turn Up The Music' advances 13 to six. Jason Derulo's 'Fight For You' jumps from 27 to seven, and Coldplay slip five to ten with 'Paradise'. Further down the chart, One Direction rebound from 19 to 13 with 'What Makes You Beautiful' and Nicki Minaj lands (more)...

(It's a haunted house story that is... wait for it... Based On True Events!!!) Hands up anyone who is surprised when a horror movie these days claims to be based on something that actually happened. For real. It's a tired and tacky old marketing ploy, and has been commonplace for half a century already. Just imagine a film about a haunting advertising itself with the slogan "We made it all up but it is scarier than anything in real life!". To be honest I'd be interested just for the sheer audacity of that claim. If producers want to go all William Castle on me and put floating skeletons inside the cinemas than that's Ok with me too. "When the Lights Went Out" plays the authenticity...

Episode 305: “Thick as Mud”
You want to know why Justified is so damn good? Because they can take an insignificant, idiotic–but funny–character like Dewey Crowe (Damon Herriman) and elevate him so that we care about him and his livelihood on the show.
Half of last night’s episode, “Thick as Mud” was a race against time for escaped convict, Dewey, who was convinced by his kidnapper, Lance (Clayne Crawford), a prison surgeon that he had extracted his two kidneys and gave him four hours to go on a crime spree and get as much cash before dying a terrible death. Lance preyed on Dewey’s lack of intelligence but not all criminals are as stupid as our loveable dumbass.
And if he wasn’t beaten around enough, only Dewey could hit a dead end in his futile spree at a convenient store run by an overly sensitive,...

Nicki Minaj channels her inner pop princess for her just-released single "Starships." The fist-pumping song dropped on Tuesday (February 14), and it's club-ready and poised for crossover success.
Thanks to its bouncy beat, Minaj's sing-songy chorus and producer RedOne's eye for Euro house-influenced pop music, Minaj may have a new "Super Bass." It's a blast of pop goodness in which Nicki raps and sings about partying and doing what feels good for you. The song is also full of signature Minaj sass and bravado.
"Starships were meant to fly/ Hands up and touch the sky/ Can't stop 'cause we're so high/ Let's do this one more time," she declares on the feel-good chorus, before it repeats and evolves to a smashing, dance-floor-busting grind of beats,...

Artist and cartoonist best known for St Trinian's and Molesworth
The artist Ronald Searle, who has died aged 91, will always be associated with St Trinian's, the anarchic girls' boarding school he created in pen and ink in the 1940s, which inspired a long-running series of films. Searle and St Trinian's go together like Petruchio and Kate; except that Searle created his own shrews and lived with their reputation for the rest of his life.
Before he left for second world war service, during which he would be held captive in Changi jail, Singapore, Searle posted off several cartoons to Kaye Webb, the assistant editor of Lilliput magazine. One of them showed a group of schoolgirls clutching hockey sticks gathered around a noticeboard; the caption read: "Owing to the international situation, the match with St Trinian's has been postponed." This is only obliquely about St Trinian's, but is always known as...

Now a new music video for a track off the set entitled "Put Your Hands Up", which sees the multi-platinum hip-hop artist juggling a score of well-endowed young women during a house party that takes place in his penthouse apartment, has hit the web. Hands up if this has happened to you - you make a short film while working at Disney about a boy who uses Frankenstein man-playing-god science to bring his dog back to life after it gets run over by a car and the movie is deemed too dark and unmarketable, ultimately costing you your job.
Then some 20-odd years later, once you've made a reputation for yourself as the go-to friendly goth who stands for the outsider, that same company is behind the film's feature-length 3D release, and the little short that never was will be.
So, at this point I'm guessing Tim Burton is the only one with his hand raised?

Madonna Mania has begun. Her Madgesty (that’s how I spell it for Madonna) started off her day with a packed press conference. When the press conference was finished, an excited Tiff volunteer had the balls to ask M for her autograph. Methinks that person wasn't a volunteer for much longer - that's a big no-no. After the presser, Madonna got ready for her Only one-on-one interview in Canada and, sadly, it wasn’t with a Canadian crew! She met up with a European interviewer. Of course, I had my spies inside the room so we've got details anyway. Madonna was very specific about her lighting. Hands up if you're surprised. That's what I thought. No one. She’s not 30, she's not 40...she’s past 50!Apparently when the crew set up the lights and the TV monitors in place for the fifteen minute exclusive, Madonna immediately asked them to rearrange the lights!

Meet Martin. He’s your leading man in Tom Six’s The Human Centipede 2, he’ll be going all Mr Jolly on you and then stitch you and a group of new friends together for a night out you’ll never forget.
Laurence R. Harvey was the man Tom Six talked up in his recent appearance at the Big Screen event and he spoke of how he had to find the right person to take the mantle of Dr. Heiter and Harvey had the qualities he was searching for. The trailer isn’t subtle and in the few seconds of new footage we get to see more of Harvey than is expected and we’re left in no doubt that the sequel looks likely to outdo the original in its ‘dark humour’.

Hands up if you remember how dangerous it was to own a Charizard card.
For those of you who have no idea what I’m babbling about (good to see you after so long under that rock) the late Nineties saw school playgrounds worldwide go almost literally insane over Pokemon Trading Cards. There was hardly a week that passed where you weren’t hearing about some poor boy in America who’d been beaten black and blue for his prized cards or a cynical parent-of-three grumbling that the hobby introduced a form of gambling into their vulnerable children’s lives. That’s correct, sceptics, there was a time when people would just about do anything for Pokemon cards. A time when owning them was, dare I use the Nineties expression, ‘radical’.
Of the hordes of juvenile collectors, a few people may remember actually playing the game itself: collecting energy cards to power up your Pokemon,...

Combat Hospital asked some very difficult questions in "On the Brink" and I found that I had the answers to none of them.
When Bobby made the call to treat the severely burned woman, I was a little confused by Will's reaction. Why would he be upset with Bobby for trying to save a patient's life?
The distinction of 45% or 50% of a body being burned was a judgement call which meant the difference between months of agonizing treatments or letting the patient die with the least amount of pain possible.
Knowing the woman's daughter was lying one bed over, I couldn't blame Bobby for trying everything possible. I also couldn't fault Will's fight to let her go. The thought of torturing someone with medical treatment for months when you honestly believe they will die anyway must be horrifying.
That said, the nursing staff's anger towards Bobby and Rebecca still shocked me.

The monthly edition of things I’ve enjoyed on the internet in the last 30 days or so. Shared with you in a list because I like lists. Let’s do this!
1) Depresstival - Marble Zone
The following video defines what I think is so magical about the internet.
Depresstival is the name of a young lady and her musical transgressions on her youtube account. She may do stuff outside of this, I don’t know. As far as I’m concerned she lives purely in the magical box on my computer screen.
While writing and recording some of her own songs she has also started a 30 Day Musical Challenge. You know the one, it invaded pretty much every social media this year and bugged the hell out of everyone, including the people who were doing it. In this challenge she has taken to doing some rather bizarre covers.

Chicago – For the first time, a foreign film festival in Chicago will focus solely on the latest and greatest works from France. On July 22nd, the Music Box Theatre will kick off its three-day inaugural festival of French cinema, featuring eight pictures that have recently garnered praise from audiences and festival goers around the globe. It may prove to be just the ticket for movie buffs bored with summer blockbusters and outdated superheroes.
Bookending this year’s festival are appearances by two major figures in the French film industry. Director/co-writer Jean-Pierre Améris will be present for the opening night screening of his neurotic comedy, “Romantics Anonymous,” starring Benoît Poelvoorde (“Man Bites Dog”) and Isabelle Carré (“Private Fears in Public Places”). The picture was a surprise hit in France, thus rekindling interest in Améris’s acclaimed body of work (his 2004 drama “Lightweight” was screened at Cannes).

Another week, another rumour involving Towie star, Mark Wright’s roaming eye and rightly paranoid fiance, Lauren Goodger.
After very recent revelations of cheating on her behind her back with ex, Lucy Meck, whilst on holiday in Marbella, it now would seem Mr Wright (ignore the irony) has set his sights on another of the Essex show’s girls, recently single Lauren Pope.
Lauren P, who was dumped for the second time by Sugar Club manager, Kirk Morcross, a few weeks ago after he declared, ‘he didn’t fancy her anymore’, despite the pair having the most romantic break to the plastic surgeons together to having matching his & hers nose jobs, has reportedly turned to Mark for a shoulder to cry on.
A source told Now Magazine: ‘Mark contacted Popey last week to offer a shoulder to cry on.Now they’re texting up to a dozen times a day.
