Rushed, peculiar and slightly informative, this BBC special following the abuse and rape accusations against porn star Ron Jeremy serves its purpose in briefly
telling some of the events that brought him to a downfall and eventual imprisonment. Some of his victims are interviewed, one personal assistant and some insiders in the
adult film industry who defend the man's actions saying that the whole groping and touching during events is something that female porn would want him to do. So, there you
have the two sides of the story except for the man himself who didn't replied BBC's request for an interview.
As said, everything is so rushed and brief that it's hard to form a whole view about the case and/or we feel as if there's plenty of things missing. Basically, you
get more information on the internet or the news than watching this special report. It's quite good in the little things it has to present related with the case, but when
the crew start to follow and film the porn set, some interviews with the people in the industry and their idiotic and shallow points of view is that things get distracting -
and that includes some of the victims when talking about her previous work routine (and it gets weird that the victims who appear here are not the ones who denounced Jeremy).
The best interview comes from the Rolling Stone reporter who broke the case, her investigation was quite serious and she's very insightful about everything she covered.
The way things are described regarding his case it all feels like a monumental case of epic proportions that could only be fairly covered had it been an Netflix
miniseries in several parts. Just half an hour is not enough and it only serves audiences with short span of attention or people who don't like spending too much time
watching something. I liked it because it informed me of plenty of things I haven't heard about the case...which is as of now he might get away with murder after a dementia
diagnosis. 7/10.
