This episode made me happy. Watching the Brooklyn team work together and succeed so well was pretty satisfying. Maybe Serena won't learn a lesson but at least she got some punishment for being the way she was. Honestly, her going after Dan when Vanessa was supposedly her friend was pretty disgusting. It was also nice to see Jenny in action again . Nothing wrong with having "Upper East Side qualities" as long as it i used in the right way. And Blair with Chuck were as wonderful as usually. Too bad they take time off but at least they are on good terms.

A Personal Favourite

I will get my one criticism out of the way first. There is one point where Blair says she wants to be like Hillary Clinton. That made my skin crawl because that woman is the antichrist without any of the charm. I am willing to look the other way on that though. This really is one of my favourite episodes the show has ever done. I can keep this vague enough to not give spoilers, but for once Serena is put in her place. I love this because I have always hated Serena. I think she is a stuck up B**** and I don't care who knows it. Blair and Chuck are on top form here. Their chemistry is electric. The costumes, party setting and overall pageantry is top notch. Dan and Nate get along well, which I always like. They have an awesome bromance. We also get to see Jenny at her most diabolical, which is great because she might just be the hottest girl on the show (a tie with my BFF Blair) This episode really is a hidden gem, and it deserves a higher rating.

Deja Vu anyone?

Really with this episode? Didn't a masquerade ball screw up everything in an episode in an earlier previous season? This series is getting pretty stale; they need some new storylines and new drama. I feel like it's been the same thing the past two or three seasons. I was really enjoying this and I will likely still finish just because I've already put so much time in but I hope it gets better and not worse. These episodes just keep going on in circles. The characters act like they are still in high school and their problems are constantly the same with no resolve. This episode in particular just bothered me because of the complete repeat of the ball.
