- Michael and Jesse's plans to steal a safe deposit box are interrupted when Fi and a businessman's wife are kidnapped while Fi and Sam prepare to work security for a party.
- Sam calls a marker to get help (notably Fiona) providing security for businessman Christian Aikins's home party as he fears his firm's priceless invention might be stolen at the presentation. In fact when thugs attack, its' not to steal but to kidnap his wife Sarah. Fiona pretends to be worth even more ransom so she can come along. Michael and Jesse must return from their mission -break into a bank and copy the content of a mastermind's locker. It's a race against time as Aikins refuses to listen to Jesse's warning paying ransom means triggering killing-off of victim-witnesses.—KGF Vissers
- Michael started the night by talking about the dangers of going into the field with someone without proper training -- and that's when he asked his mother to help Jesse and him rob a bank. He explained that they were going after one safe deposit box. She demanded an explanation and got one with as little detail as possible.
The next day at the bank, Maddie entered while Jesse posed as a sandwich delivery guy to get into the security room. Michael explained that smoke and security systems are often linked together, so Maddie lit up a cigarette to intentionally activate the alarm system. It worked, but Jesse found out that lighting up where Maddie did was a crime and that she'd be doing jail time. Jesse broke the news to Michael, and he was worried about all of her background information the cops would discover because she'd just opened up a bank account there. As Michael and Jesse worried and made a plan to spring Maddie before the cops got involved, she appeared outside theit car. She talked her way out with a story about being nervous (which was why she needed to smoke) because she was putting pictures of her dead husband into a deposit box, and the security guards let her go.
Michael and Jesse began working on a plan to break into the bank through the floor of a law office upstairs.
Fiona and Sam came over on their way to a security gig at a bigwig's black-tie party. They got to the house before the party and the host was worried someone would try to steal his companys top-grade lithium-ion battery. He said his car had been broken into earlier. He worried someone would try to make a move during the party, which was intended to woo investors for the battery project. As Fi and Sam were checking out the house for security breaches, there was a ring at the doorbell and Fi saw masked and heavily armed men coming toward the house. She took Sarah, the host's wife, into the bathroom. The gunmen entered and started shooting up the place. The men headed for the bathroom and snatched Sarah while Fi surrendered. Then Fi pretended to be able to have her husband pay them off, and they kidnapped her, too. Sam called Mike.
Sam, Jesse and Mike went to the house and looked for clues as to who the kidnappers could be. They got a webcam call and saw Sarah and Fi bound and gagged. Sarah said into the camera that the men wanted $10 million for each of the women and she was immediately gagged again. Michael began the negotiation with the kidnapper. He gave Michael 24 hours to come up with the money. Michael took a closer look at Fi's eye contact in the video and shed blinked a Morse code message, "NO," meaning the kidnappers would kill them if they paid the ransom.
One of the kidnappers, Eddy, was the hot-headed little brother of the main man, Jacob, who promised hed let them go if they got paid. Fi told Jacob she was uncomfortable with the man assigned to watch them in the dark basement where they were being held, which led Jacob to tell the man to stand watch upstairs. Fi then broke into a storage room to get tools in an effort to bust out.
The guys back at the loft continued to make a plan, and Michael told Jesse to help keep the situation quiet. Meanwhile, Fi was using what she could find to build an explosive. Sarah was nervous about upsetting the kidnappers, but Fi explained that because the kidnappers had already shown their faces, she knew they were going to be killed. Fi picked another fake fight with Sarah so she could get one of the guy's cell phones and be taken upstairs. Sarah played along and it worked. In the bathroom, Fi called Michael and Sam while collecting more supplies. She heard Sarah outside asking where she was going. Jacob was telling Sarah that her husband paid up, then he gave instructions to one of his men to put two bullets in Sarah and two in everyone else at the drop when the money was collected.
Michael reached Jesse and told him Christian (Sarah's husband) made a deal with the kidnappers. Jesse realized he let Christian out of his sight just long enough for him to have made a call. When she got another moment, Fi called Michael again. She told Michael and Sam that she'd send them a smoke signal. She burned some rubber and put it into the air conditioning system, which would push a dark cloud outside.
Christian told Jesse he felt bad for having made a deal with the kidnappers. He didn't want to risk his wife's life based on Fi's eye blinking message. Maddie came in and tried to break up the argument. Jesse stepped outside and Christian explained to Maddie that he had to do something for the woman he loves. He said Jesse and Michael didnt understand that, but Maddie said, meaningfully, "I think he knows exactly how you feel."
Meanwhile, Sam asked Michael about the recent tension between Fi and him. ("I disappointed her.") He knew she was upset with the way he burned Jesse. Fiona's smoke signal got out, and Sam and Michael headed for it. She used the smoke as an excuse to get to the kitchen for some water. She started to open up to Jacob about her husband and his unwillingness to pay her ransom. She took a swig of vodka and asked if she could keep the bottle. Jacob let her. Then he gave her a piece of gum when she asked.
When Eddy left, Fiona used her handcuffs to break the wooden chair to which she was cuffed. She called Michael and told him to go to the airport for Sarah while she concocted some kind of escape with the gum, vodka and a light bulb.
Christian was insistent on paying the ransom and refused to tell Jesse where the ransom drop was happening. Jesse and Maddie worked up a guilt trip on Christian to get him to reveal the location. Jesse called Michael and told him to go to Cape Florida lighthouse, where Christian's CFO was headed for the drop.
Fiona filled the light bulb with vodka and called Jacob into the room while waiting for the bulb to explode. She told Jacob to get it over with and shoot her. The bulb popped and Fiona tackled Jacob. His backup came into the room, but Sam was right behind him. ("Hi honey, I'm home.")
Michael beat the CFO to the lighthouse. He showed Eddy a picture of Jacob wrapped in duct tape. Eddy called Jacob to find out where he was. Fi told Eddy that Jacob was sitting on a bomb. Eddy was upset, but gave up Sarah and his guns. Michael told Eddy to call the cops for his brother, whose bomb was on a timer. Eddy called the cops, then Sam pointed out how stupid he was for believing the timer was attached to the bomb with duct tape.
Fi showed up at the loft looking pretty beat, and as Jesse and Michael both looked at her ("You should see the other guy."), Michael got up, wrapped her in his arms and kissed her. Jesse looked dejected and walked out without saying anything.
Back inside Maddie's house, Maddie had a little chat with Jesse about how Fiona and Michael love each other, and they hate each other. But it's always each other. She said she saw how upset Jesse was when Fiona was in trouble. He stammered a little and said he just wanted what was best for them. Maddie said she believed him, but "you might just want to work on that poker face."
Michael and Jesse set out to break into the bank. They got in, got the box, and got out before security showed up.
In their car, they snooped through the box and found a Bible. It had a book code in it. Michael flipped through it. Jesse noticed the inscription that said Simon, and asked Michael if he knew who Simon was. Michael lied and said he had no idea.
