- A big city: two guys are chatting on the net, about being writers, novels, books. As they talk, we see the fictional characters: . A young married couple who live in total silence - it seems that life has abandoned this young couple . A businessman, sad, makes a phone call, then, in front of a mirror, starts applying make-up . A young priest, who must leave a small city - London is waiting for him now. The two writers meet and talk about writing. It's clear that the younger one has been published; he is 21 years old and the other is 30. The older man is full of dreams, but does not have the fight within him to fulfill them; he envies the younger man. The younger writer is gay; the older one is not, but maybe this encounter represents the key that will allow him to reach editors and publishers. We see in their faces attraction, calculation, fear, rejection, overwhelming desire. They kiss, make love. Once again the images from the fictional "reality" appear: . The silent wife puts baby clothes into a box . The old man, with make-up complete, dresses in women's clothes . The young priest is in London, alone After a while it becomes clear that the older writer is married - there are tensions in the marriage. Alone in their apartment, the wife hears his mobile beep - a text from the young writer arrives - she reads it, assumes it's from a girl. It would not be the first time. She leaves the apartment, meets a friend, answers the text, pretending to be her husband, makes arrangements to meet the "girl". At the meeting point she's looking for a girl. She sees a young man, apparently waiting for someone. She calls the number on her husband's phone. The young man answers. She realizes the truth. Shocked and speechless, she decides to follow him and, with a trick, she starts a conversation with him. They continue the conversation in a pub. He tells her about a tattoo he wants; she convinces him she is a tattoo artist and arranges a meeting at his apartment. Later, at the apartment, no longer able to contain herself, she spits out the truth. It's a shock for this young, sensitive, honest guy. Her husband, in the meantime, returns home, finds his wife and mobile gone, becomes fearful, gets in his car and goes to his "boyfriend's" house. He arrives to see his wife and "boyfriend" entering the same door. Inside the apartment, the wife viciously destroys the young man's hopes about her husband. Eventually, distraught, she asks for headache pills. He goes to the bathroom for them but then swaps them for tranquilizers. She takes them, soon feels faint, and then passes out. The young guy is in the bathtub, listening to the radio. A song, with very meaningful lyrics, forces him to re-live, in his mind, the last weeks. The sorrow is unbearable for him. With his toes he pulls the radio into the water. A coffin in an almost empty church. The woman from the silent marriage is sitting, alone. The young priest walks down the aisle. The cheated wife arrives and sits close to the "silent" woman. The old transvestite is outside the church, waiting for his son, the young priest. The real and the fictional have merged. Before the funeral the young priest meets his mother. Her bitterness and anger about her husband (the priest's transvestite father) come out clearly for the first time. The mother pushed her son to follow a faith he didn't truly feel, to cleanse the family sins. The young priest abandons the cassock to live in honesty, trying to re-build a relationship with his father.
