Danny Baker said that Anthony Newley told him a story about winning an award for writing the title song from the movie "Goldfinger". According to Newley, he later was in the men's restroom admiring himself in the mirror holding his award. Henry Mancini came in and indirectly reminded him the first three sung notes of "Goldfinger" were identical to the first three sung notes of "Moon River", which had won an award the year before. There are problems with this story. The movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" was released in 1961, and "Goldfinger" in 1964. The UK composer John Barry wrote the music, not Newley. When Newley and Leslie Bricusse first heard the song, immediately after "Goldfinger", they chimed in with "wider than a mile" from "Moon River".
