I liked this better than the feature, because, for one thing, it was less predictable. I mean, how often do "making-of's" spend about half their time on location scouting? (Both the "Chicago" and "Tokyo" scenes of THE GRUDGE 3 were shot in Bulgaria.) Feature director Toby Wilkins, producer Andrew Pfeffer, and executive producer J.R. Young divided up most of the talking head time (around the feature clips and behind-the-scenes segments), and showed more savvy here than they were able to actually convey to the plotting of the feature. No doubt some credit goes to TOKYOGOARIA editor Andrew Laurich.
