Cal Lightman is pressed by his editor's attorney since he has not written a book that he had received cash in advance to write. He goes to his bank, since his account is blocked, and sees a man named Mike Salinger. He concludes that the man is planning a heist of the bank and asks to join his crew. He discloses his plan to Detective Sharon Wallowski, since Ben and the FBI are not part of his team anymore. When he meets Mike, he is with his partner Henry Miller and is forced to deliver the blueprints of the bank to the criminal. However, he does not give the password of the safe, and Miller reluctantly has to bring Cal with him. The bank is surrounded by cops and Cal offers Mike to leave the bank. However, the man has a personal agenda against the bank.
"In the Red" is a good episode of "Lie to Me" with a corny conclusion. This time, the odd Cal Lightman joins a crew that will rob a bank, but he leaks information of Detective Sharon Wallowski and the plan goes awry. He tries to save Mike Salinger, but the guy is too stupid to understand him. The conclusion with Sandy Baxter giving the house to Steph Salinger is too corny for my taste. My vote is seven.
