Powerful message

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this movie. Everyone involved in it really made it clear that the message behind this story is the fact that your life can turn around in the face of adversity.

To see a young couple with young children spiral downhill and have to make choices based on greed, anger, resentment and lack of trust really defines a lot of homes and marriages of today. It is important for folks to see what this does to a family and to children. It is also interesting that this is told from the Dads point of view. Often times, the Dad is portrayed as the "bad guy"...it was different in this case.

I think the acting was well done, the story flowed, the music was powerful, and when I met the actors at one of the first showings I really liked the leads-Adam Melton and Vanessa Ore. They were very appreciative of people coming to see the film. The 2 girls that played their daughters-Kayli Tolleson and Anna Grace Bradley were just as charming as they were in the movie.

I would recommend this movie for anyone who has a heart. You will appreciate the effort that was put into this film by everyone involved.

This movie is a real inspiration.

There are may things I like about this movie. The first being, it was dramatic without using profanity, or sexual innuendo every five minutes. Second, it's set in modern day so you can relate to the events and struggles of the characters. Third, the outcome was unexpected; a welcomed change from the movies I've seen before. I hate movies that use the same old tired formulas. Where you know whats going to happen before it does. The acting was great. I was really drawn into the story. There were funny parts, sad parts, dramatic, "on the edge of my seat" parts, I really enjoyed it. And the fact that it was made by volunteers with no budget makes me a witness to a true miracle of a movie.

I just have to say this movie is the Best Christian based film I have seen in a longtime. It took a lot of wonderful people to volunteer their time to make this happen.. It hits home to many many people and it touches each and everyone that see's this film.. I have heard so many people leave the theater in AWWW over this film.. There are funny parts, sad parts, real day to day views in a marriage and it keeps your attention thru the whole movie.. It took a lot of people to make this happen. Even with it being a low budget film you would think it was made by someone in Hollywood the actors, the script, the props, all the volunteer's,the actors and it couldn't have happened with out the wonderful Director Bill Rahn, Producer Amy Rahn & Adam Melton.. The actors were amazing to work with, the cast and crew were just as amazing...I would like to say to the Director Bill Rahn, Producers Amy Rahn & Adam Melton absolutely a JOB WELL DONE!!! It is a MUST SEE!!!!

Pendelum Swings is a movie about a real person and the blows that life can swing at you. It also shows very opposite ways a person can handle those things. What a great message it sends. This movie, from what I understand, was produced with very little funding but that does not take away from the important aspects of the movie. Many people volunteered their time, locations and props to make this movie with the hopes that it would encourage others who have or will deal with life's many challenges. I very highly recommend if you get a chance to see this movie, then you need to do so. You will laugh and cry but you will be encouraged.

Full of clichés.

Warning: Spoilers
This movie has been promoted around my small town by the lead actor Adam Melton as the next big thing in Christian cinema. Aside from being low budget and shown on a homemade DVD, I was willing to give it a chance. That was until Mr. Melton proved to be rather arrogant. When asked during a question and answer session about some of the flaws in the film, he quickly blew off those asking the questions.

The film itself gives a low opinion of women as the wife is the cause of all the drama in Dale's life. It feels like nothing he has done has led to these situations at all because he's the 'perfect' husband and father. Several key events feel contrived and pushed in order to get the point they wish you to grasp along. Overall, the message isn't delivered very well. Do yourself a favor and rent Fireproof or simply wait for Courageous to come out in a theater near you.
