Kenyon and Mitchell wander far afield from their usual stomping grounds in Manchester to give the audience a series of panoramas in Dublin Actually, they did this sort of thing fairly often, traveling to Scotland and Ireland in about half their films, and shooting a few story films in a studio, instead of their better known actualities.
It's not a single panorama shot of College Green, but a set of ten short clips. It is interesting as an early example of what is called panorama shots, in which the camera turns to give the audience an extended view of a place. Earlier, 'panorama' referred to any moving shot, whether the operator moved the camera or it was placed on a train, boat, balloon r oxcart. These are pretty erratic and shaky in their movement, but they were still learning how to do it.
