Bengali Film Review - Abar Kanchenjunga steaming on Zee 5

Managed to catch up on this emotional family drama due to its impressive starcast. So here goes...
The film centres around the Deb Family who own an old Colonial bungalow "Abilash" in Darjeeling.
The eldest brother Nishith ( Kaushik Sen) invites his siblings Sudev, Debesh, Rohit along with their sister Semonti & her husband Soumitra to their ancestral home for a family reunion during Christmas.
The reunion is intended to rekindle their childhood memories, but as the story unfolds, each character reveals secrets, ulterior motives and unfulfilled promises. Will the family break apart or will a miracle happen on Christmas Eve and set things right!!
The plus points .. great ensemble cast boasting of biggies like Saswata Chatterjee, Kaushik Sen , Bidipta Chakraborty, Gaurav Chakraborty among others . Awesome cinematography that captures the beauty of Darjeeling. A visual delight indeed!!
The minus points - having a huge starcast has its downside . Characters aren't well etched out OR don't get enough screen time OR are left high and dry !!. However Arpita Chatterjee's emotional portrayal of the sister Semonti, Saswata, as her hubby Soumitra and Rahul Banerjee as the crass & brash politician Debesh ( hamming alert 😁) are the best of the lot !!
Even with its flaws, it is a decent one time watch family drama . Cudve been better though!!
